The general topic of 'sealing' spirits into objects both animate and inanimate
has been a subject of pulp fiction for generations untold. Thsoe of you who
attended the 12th Conference on Metaphysics and Psychokinometry may remember
the work in progress presented by Dr. Avalon's group in Baltimore: Harnessing
Rudimentary Metapresence Energies. In short, emprisoning low-level 'spirits'
in specially-prepared foci as a means of Enchantment. Several research
groups around the world are pursuing this as an alternative to the standard
binding model.

However, emprisoning spirits within living beings is a much deeper question.
In short: how are the spirits that convential living beings possess contained
in their physical form? While it should presumably be possible to encase one
Aura within another, the results would be, to say the least, difficult to
predict and quite possibly disastrous for both the spirit and the 'host'. As
it is, the precise mechanism by which the power commonly known as Possession
operates is hotly contested (see the Journal of Metaphysics, Superphysical
Quarterly, and the other relevant journals). _Which_ is not to say that such
a feat is impossible, but difficult enough that no Thaumatury group has claimed
its accomplishment. ]<<<<<
