>>>>>[I'm afraid that I'm not quite sure. It all depends on how long it
will
take to find a person willing to have the operation. If I can find a Clinic
that won't be in use for several weeks of healing time, and once Kichanski
and I work out the rest of the bugs in the design, the operation would take
around 3 hours, then the implementation of the Bionetic Cybernetics would take
another two weeks minimum. It is not easy to do what we are trying to do, and
rushing it will only create problems. We will have enough as it is.
But the biggest problem is availability of a subject, availablity of the
operational units, finding an excellent surgeon, and then an operating/recovery
theatre for the operation and final implementation of the cybernetics.
It took Collussus only 3 days to be fully itegrated with his current body, but
we had the body ready, all the materials easily available, and the best surgewon in Ares
at the time to help us. This is another order of magnitude more
difficult.
Same time tonight, Kichanski? I am giving some thought to the problems you
mentioned in the macro-aspects of the design. I will re-design the lubrication
sub-system to the joints before I arrive this evening. Do you know of anyone
else well versed in micro-cybernetics? Well, no matter. I am rather glad
that you did do so much with the Rimmer drone that I had not seen. Your
changes and practical experience showed up in the problems you pointed out in
the lubrication system. I shall see you soon. Is there a chance that I would
be able to meet Lister this evening? I seem to have the impression that you
nearly threatened him with bodily harm if we were disturbed last night(and
this morning...too long of a meeting). He could very easily see some basic
design flaws that both you and I are missing.]<<<<<
