intention
to recognize Omega Island and an independent nation... (do not be concerned,
Dark Elf, I am still very much on the case, in regards to this, General Trevor
business...I am only taking a break long enough to make a few comments)
First of all, for all the praises the press sings of it, the union is largely
ineffectual. What those "united world" idiots do not realize is that their
influence is largely at an end. The United Nations organization is nothing
more than a collection of states, the major supporters of which merely wish to
garner good press coverage from presenting a facade of a united world. In
truth, very little is accomplished by the organization anymore.
A few points: Where was the United Nations during the EuroWars? If it is
truly an organization for the promotion of world peace, it failed miserably
in that particular instance... History has a penchant for repeating itself,
the old saying goes. The defunct League of Nations proved inadequate to the
task of stopping the black clouds of war once again casting their long shadow
over the European continent, and the result was World War II. The United
Nations has proved equally incompetent in preventing the EuroWars, and has
since been regarded, in many circles, as castrated in terms of influence and
authority.
I put it to you: The Security Council's permanent members, do they truly
represent the powers in the world today?
The United Canadian American States, the amalgamation of the shattered remains
of two former nations, is there. There is also the Republic of Moscow, whose
economy and military still have yet to recover from the wars and its own
revolution. The Chinese government, which has, for all practical purposes,
drawn within itself, and now eats its own tail as Ouroborous. The French
Republic, which partially atomized following the resolution of hostilities, and
certainly is not the power on the continent. England is perhaps the only one
which has maintained its status, of these so-called Super Powers.
The final point I shall make is that I have received word that the Imperial
German administration has openly refused to recognize Omega Island as a
sovereign nation, and there are plans for lodging a formal complaint and
protest to the United Nations for even considering extending membership to what
it term as "a transparent attempt to legitimize corporate interests under the
guise of a political entity". ]<<<<<
