>>>>>[ In regards to the earlier referred to "private patrons" of
MagnaTech:

Where did these funds come from, you might inquire? Well, I would imagine most
shadowrunners out there are not naive enough to believe that large groups of
unseen investors contributed due to the innate kindness of their hearts. As
has already been mentioned, there is considerable evidence to suggest that the
Yakuza was funding, at least in part, this operation. General Trevor was also
generating large amounts of revenue from presenting MagnaTech with defense
contracts. Upon further scrutiny of Trevor and the UCAS Army's activities, it
is clear (at least to me) that there was nearly ubiquitous siphoning of funds
from military Research & Development programs. On the face of it, the amounts
are almost imperceptible; a very experienced technomancer apparently
constructed a code for the purpose of minute extraction of funds from several
accounts such that, although at any one time the loss would seem
inconsequential, when taken in sum, it is surprisingly large. The trail of
these funds leads through a maze of various banks and other monetary
institutions ultimately to the MagnaTech system (as if this were in the least
bit shocking...).

Further, through a friend with _extensive_ underworld and organized crime
connections, I have managed to confirm the speculation that also in 2047 the
powerful Yakuza clan in New York, the Shingen Komatsu, did, in fact, forge an
agreement with Quention for helping bankroll the new biomechanics division of
MagnaTech, launched by Quention upon taking his position on the board.

As to progress of the Alpha Omega Project, that has been harder to determine.
There has been a conscientious effort by those involved in this case (former
MagnaTech administrators, Yoshida Technologies, and Dragon's Den International)
to acquire and delete all files pertaining to the project since this incident
became public (at least in the shadows). There is next to nothing remaining in
the MagnaTech mainframe. However, I gleaned the files at Omega Chemical
Research & Production, which revealed a few bits of data. I then recalled Dark
Elf's cyberknight companion, Big Jake, once mentioning a visit to the South
American headquarters of MagnaTech, located in Rio de Janeiro

This revelation proved to be key to many of the mysteries still plaguing this
case. Do not be misled: The files I found were by no means complete or
comprehensive as I would have hoped; nevertheless, they do manage to
authenticate much of what we think is true of the Alpha Omega Project.

The files begin with some nearly inscrutable technical jargon in biotechnology,
biomechanical research, et cetera (which truly is not my field...I'm a doctor
of the military, natural, and computer sciences; however, I do intend to have
a colleague peruse it for me). There are several references to donors. Each
"clone", if you will, had a genetic heritage, in varying degrees, from five
different donor. Alpha donor was primary to the body and physique. Donors
Beta, Gamma, and Delta contributed what were considered desirable traits to
this base. The Omega donor was for the mental make-up of the clone, and in all
cases, this donor was Roger Quention. ]<<<<<
