'20s.

I thought we'd gotten over that little phrase. Seriously though: if
you're going to do a run, and do it stylishly (as Lynch has done in the
past), you have to act the part. You can either:
a> Just keep that stoney "I'll be back" expression, OR
b> you can have fun with it. Just 'cause your life's on the line
doesn't mean you can't have fun (a good one for disembowling is "he had
guts", a fun one for a threat is shooting over their head and then saying
"PSYCH!", but you can't really keep these on stock. You have to come up
with 'em as you use them). In case you haven't guessed, this is our
preference.
(c> act in a really "professional military" way. This is sort of a mix of
"a" and "b", but without the fun)

Now, if you're gonna go for the "c" style, make sure you do it right. If
you recycle a phrase, NOBODY is going to take you seriously (unless it's a
really GOOD phrase, in which case, proper use is essential -- a "fire in
the hole" is NOT an exploding window). As our personal preference, Lynch
should DEFINITELY stick with "a".]<<<<<

>>>>>[ For once I will even have to agree with Jen and Gabe to certain
extent,
for while they normally lack in any qualities I would look for in Shadowrunners,
they do raise a valid point. Shadowrunning can be fun and should not always be
taken as seriously as it is sometimes. I have found that a little levity can
make people relax and focus on the job ahead much better. Also, differing
attitudes can help to confuse an enemy in a time of crisis.

As to anything they actually said besides fun being a neccesary part of running,
I would seriously doubt that anyone without lenient corp backing would still be
alive exhibiting their attititudes. But they do have their uses, they do make a
wonderful blind for other activities since they draw so much attention. Take
that last comment as you will, it has quite a few layers to it.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Actually, J&G, "fire in the hole" dates back to the
19th century. Comes
from when they used dynamite for mining, and anyone who knows explosives knows
it means "get your sorry head down or get an earful of flying rubble") and
comes from the days of hand-igniting combustion fuses to the shothole,
which would be packed with nitrocellulose, gunpowder or Dynamite. Hence,
"fire" in the "hole", and there's about to be enough bang to throw
stuff.

Benefits of education and training, I guess. But you knew all this, all the
time, right? <g>]<<<<<
