>>>>>[Drek, someone must have a serious grudge against someone in Tacoma.

Hello, this is Nikki Citizen, live at the Gangster Arms appartment complex
where not more than 10 minutes ago, a powerful explosion ripped through the
fifth, sixth, and seventh floors of Gangster Arms North, and where a 3
alarm fire is currently raging out of control. The initial explosion
appears to have totally destroyed several appartments, damaged many others,
and has caused serious structural damage to the appartment building. The
fire has trapped several dozen people in the upper floors of the building,
and unconfirmed reports have 7 residents dead and another 10 injured. The
three responding Tacoma fire stations have called for the assistance of
specialized fire-fighting magicians, who we hear are due on the scene
within the next few minutes....

End broadcast +++++

That was last night, about 2215. The next bit is from this morning, after
the fire was put out and forensics teams had begun to shift through the
rubble.

+++++ Begin recorded news broadcast

Last night, the Gangster Arms North appartment building was rocked by an
explosion and resulting fire which tore a giant hole in the fifth, sixth,
and seventh floors and left 6 people dead, another 13 critically injured,
and another 8 in serious condition suffering from smoke inhalation. Just
recently, Lone Star forensics experts located what they believe to be the
cause of the explosion in an appartment rented by Mr. and Mrs. Maximilian
Bruton - chemical residues from several kilograms of Compound 12. Police
say that the explosives appear to have been located in the refrigerator,
but have been unwilling to comment as to whether the explosive was set as a
booby trap or a bomb. Mr. and Mrs. Bruton have not been found, but
forensics are looking for tissue traces and blood samples to determine
thier current state of health. An anonymous source in Lone Star was quoted
as saying that the police might consider bringing in InterPol Special
Branch to investigate if there is evidence which points toward the Bruton's
being international terrorists....

End broadcast +++++

Gotta love that. Any bets on how much of the poor deceased Bruton's they
find?]<<<<<

Foxey Roxey was somehow protected by an elemental of hers, which was also
discorpreated. The fire elemental engulfed her and protected her from the
bulk of the explosion that way, although it was also responsible for the
fire. The engulfing, however, seriously burned Foxey Roxey, perhaps
permanently scarring her, although most of my healers here at Haven are
unwilling to say for certain at this point. In addition, before Foxey
Roxey was rescued from the burning building, several pounds of debris fell
and compound fractured both of her legs and crushed a hand beyond
recognition. Her legs have been mended magically, and the bear shamans
here are performing a healing ritual to repair her hand. At this point,
however, we don't know how much more her body will be able to handle before
magical healing just isn't sufficient.

There were two individuals responsible for rescuing them both - a young
Japanese girl and her black cloaked associate. MaxiMillion wouldn't
discuss them, but apparently they pulled both Roxey and Arial from the
flames prior to the arrival of the police and the fire department.

They also gave him a message, which I'm supposed to relay to you.

"Alexander, do you still seek redemption? When last we met, I was young,
and you rejected me. Now that I am older, would you still? You own a
wonderful pub, Alexander - perhaps we should meet there sometime soon. We
have many years to catch up on."

I'll keep Foxey Roxey and Arial in my care until they are well enough to be
released, and I'll keep you informed. Whatever is happening, Alex, good
luck.]<<<<<

Too messy to be an assassination; why blow up an entire building for one or
two people? Sure, you'll probably hit your target, but it will create far
too many problems with Lone Star, other families hit and media coverage.

No, I would suspect that this act was a message to someone. Question is,
who?]<<<<<
