LOCAL BUSINESSMAN EMBARRASSED AT FAMILY PARTY

Eric Descabiere, a local businessman with rumoured Mob connections
in Vegas, was in hiding last night after a disastrous party celebrating his
8th wedding anniversary to Minnie Juanita Descabiere, a former cocktail
waitress from Tahoe, left him a fugitive in fear for his life.

However, it is not due to a rival gang or a police crackdown that has Eric
running for his life - it's the little woman! Footage of the event was sent
anonymously to this office last night of said party, with many eminent
local businessmen, mainly from the Italian community, arriving at the
Trattoria Romana, a family-run (and, we mean 'family') restaurant in
Seattle to celebrate the anniversary. The party was well into its swing,
when the traditional trideo messages from well-wishers in the Old Country
were played.

At this point, events become slightly unclear, but it appears
the contents of the trideo were of a somewhat earthier nature than
originally intended, with Eric appearing in a starring role in a short
"art" picture, along with a Miss Marie Mendoza, formerly Miss Teenage
Redmond 2059. The party footage, taken from a concealed camera, is
rather blurred and unclear, but Mrs Descabiere, displaying an
agility that her 275lbs would seem to bely, can distinctly be seen
attempting a rather physical remonstration with her husband for
several minutes. At this point smoke could be seen in the background,
and the party degenerated with people running for the exits as they
realised the building was on fire.

Outside the building, external eye-witness reports say that the fire escalated
rapidly, and despite the intervention of the emergency services, serious
damage to the fabric of the building was sustained.

There were no serious casualties, although two members of staff were
admitted to hospital for the symptoms of smoke inhalation, and strangely,
four for serious head contusions, we believe caused in the panic to
escape. The married couple were reported to have then left in separate
cars, Mr Descabiere's at high speed and swerving through traffic. The
other car, apparently containing his wife, pursued for two blocks but was
then held up in traffic.

We have been unable to contact anyone for comment at the Descabiere
residence, or indeed at the Trattoria Romana, for comment on the incident.
The origin of the party footage, and the offending tape is a mystery, as is
the cause of the fire. Lone Star are reported to be investigating the
incident, but they too refused to comment this morning.
