>>>>>[ Reborn from the ashes again, Jason? Croaker pointed out that
you recently posted on this node. I figured I would try to warn you.
Actually, I would have thought Midnight (among others) would have done
just that, but then again, he too is trying to keep his head down.

I suppose you are going to really want a summary of the recent events
and why you should be warned of anything. (You might want to sit down
for this. It is definitely not cheerful news, and I'm not about to
parcel out the bad news to make it more comfortable.)

It all started about two and a half months ago. It was New Year's Eve,
my crew was the roadies for Killing Zone's first concert (actually,
they just put out an album, and it is _sweet_). We had a blast during
the concert. Apparently, Scourge and Sprinkler did too, but they
weren't at the concert. Someone attacked the safehouse we were in
staying in at the time. At first we thought it was related to what to
the current project we were all indirectly working. When no follow-up
attacks happened we really began to wonder. From what I have heard
through the grapevine, Scourge ended up having to be jump started --
courtsey of Doc Wagon. He had a lengthy stay there and then ended up
going back to JICES. No one has heard a damn thing from him.

Sprinkler -- well, the poor kid went up with the safehouse. We all
hope he is in a better place now. Shadowfox, taking it as well as he
could, soon after the funeral disappeared. We thought he went back to
Denver, but he isn't responding to messages here. So I've had no
choice but to put him firmly in the MIA camp again.

Being more than a little concerned, I had Croaker began trying to fit
the pieces of what we know about the incident into the larger picture.
Meanwhile, word comes from Boston that Gunner needs employees and
quick.

Funny, the pieces look mighty odd and hauntingly familiar. 1)
Sprinkler. 2) Scourge. 3) Gunner. 4) Shadowfox. Midnight and I
thought that it was a decent chance that anyone who knows people on
that hit list will be in danger, as well. That definitely means you
and Colleen.

Well, now we have some added complications. The Wanderer "flatlined"
Whirlwind and Gunner. (Whirlwind is an innocent bystander I think,
because he was just bodyguarding Gunner at the time. Since I haven't
been able to catch up with Doomsday, I have yet to tell him. I
actually tried once. Flew myself out to Seattle. Went to Doomsday's
place. It was recently renovated. If he is alive, I don't know it.)

That leaves Scourge, maybe Shadowfox, and maybe Doomsday, and whoever
else they are looking for. Since they didn't come for us when they had
us down, I think my crew is safe. I'm not so sure about you and
Colleen though. We sent a warning off to JICES, but they are being
rather silent. Since New Years, we have tried several times to warn
you. I'm not sure if any of them have reached your ears though. Which
is why I am writing this now.

For the record, I would prefer to tell Doomsday myself what happened to
his brother. I apologize for the abrupt manner that I have broken the
news to you. Telling anyone about deaths of former comrade-in-arms, is
never pleasant. Although it is definitely a job risk of the field that
most of us are in. ]<<<<<
