>>>>>[I have acquired some preliminary forensics information
concerning the latest assassination. This is courtesy of the Lone
Star Forensics Division and the consultation of an armorer contact.
Orion appears to be using a customized variant of the Barrett Heavy
Sniper Rifle bored for larger caliber rounds. The rounds fired upon
the Nightsky were 20mm HEAP rounds, definitely not available on the
common market. The rounds are too large for magazine-fed receiver, so
instead it probably has a 1-3 shot capacity. My armorer only knows of
a handful of people that could have manufactured this gun, and one of
them is a resident of Seattle: Chun. Chun is a top quality armorer
that works out of northern Puyallup. He is very well connected with
the local Seoulpa Rings and has several allies in the Yakuza,
specifically the Daikazu Clan.
The attack included a magical strike in addition to Orion's sniper
fire. A single powerful spell consisting of 2 stacked fireballs was
used, but the mage was smart enough to use a sterilize spell before
leaving the scene, so no astral signature was left. The complication
and power of the stacked fireballs strongly suggests an initiated
mage, but there was physical evidence of a fetich focus used in the
attack.
Lone Star's current stance is that the assassination was performed
by a rival corporate hit team resulting from corporate frictions.
Similar assassinations have been carried out by Orion against
Mitsuhama, Renraku, Lone Star, Universal Brotherhood, and Seattle
Government execs. Some of them involved strikes on corporate
vehicles, and some involved a follow-up magical attack. Lone Star is
no longer investigating those homicides however.

This information provides little more than additional background
and peripheral advancements, except for Chun. I have already
established a surveillance presence at Chun's residency which
includes remote videa and audio feed and a tracking signal on his GMC
Bulldog Stepvan. I was planning on continuing the surveillance and
infiltrating the location later tonight. I could integrate some
additional support at that stage.
I would highly advise against making an unprepared attack on Orion.
Admittedly, if we wait too long then the target could become
appraised of our interest, but Orion is not someone to whom danger is
new. Gohei, the hit at Underground 93 is a possibility, but it would
be premature to establish a strike point there yet. Kor, I have a
feeling that you could find yourself dead if you are not careful.
Orion would rather eliminate a potential threat than humor a
potential ally.]<<<<<

Morgue's report strengthens my belief that the target sould be
taken from afar, by suprise. Sucess first, honor afterward.
