Dallas Mafia Don Angus "The Bull" McHenry was murdered in his Mariott hotel
suite last night by unknown assailant or assailants. The Bull's bodyguards
engaged in a pitched gun battle which ended with both bodyguards dead and
two Mariott security guards critically wounded. Lone Star officials
investigating the case had no comments.

was a powerful member of the McHenry family, in Seattle from Dallas. Mr.
Angus McHenry is known in Dallas as "The Bull", mostly because of his name
and the stories about how he sees red and charges right in where angels
fear to tread.
The victim was found approximately 2 meters from his Mariott hotel suite
door, inside the room, at 12:06 AM on June 1. Witnesses reported hearing a
scream that turned into a gurgle followed by a large thud. Other hotel
guests called security, who identified the victim and kept the bodyguards
from removing the body from the premesis, resulting in several short but
violent gun battles in the hallway. The firefights resulted in the
critical injury of two Mariott security guards and the death of both
bodyguards. Lone Star arrived shortly after the battles ended and
proceeded to take control of the investigation.
Unfortunately, the battle pretty heavily damaged the crime scene,
destroying all chance that this would be a clean-cut investigation, or an
easy job for forensics, but they're still working on it. I was called in
immediately following the discovery of 4 USA-vintage pennies in Mr.
McHenry's pocket, linking this murder to the previous three murders.
Someone is very carefully choosing murder victims for some reason I'm as
yet unable to divine. Maybe the Dips who claimed my last case before I had
a chance to do anything on it have some clue. If they did, I sure would
like to know what it is.
Moving on. The victim was identified as having suffered a magically
assisted death, ie he was spelled to death. The damage matches what would
normally occur due to the casting of what is known as a Deathtouch spell,
but the magical experts in Homocide tell me that it's not likely. There's
no evidence of anyone being inside the area, and the elementals who are
required to guard the suites reported that no-one besides Mr. McHenry and
his two bodyguards were in the room at the time. However, they did
indicate that there was a powerful magical link between Mr. McHenry and
some other part of Astral space. My magical experts indicate that this is
evidence of a ritual sending, and have attempted to track it back to the
source. As of yet, there's no report from them on success or lack-thereof.
Now to the grisly details. Mr. McHenry has already undergone a partial
autopsy, and whatever the spell was seemed to have cause simultaneous and
nearly instantaneous total collapse of every major organ and system in the
body. The heart was bleeding from ruptured coronary arteries, the lungs
had filled with blood as well. The stomach and intestines had ruptured,
and the bladder and bowels had expelled thier contents as well. The liver
looked to be totally dead, although this was apparently a by-product of Mr.
McHenry's alcoholism rather than the spell. Multiple tendons had torn,
muscles had clenched so hard that they broke the bones they were attached
to. Definately not a nice way to go. I'm sure I'll get all the nitty
gritty details from the coroner before the end of the day. I'm not sure I
should be looking forward to it or not.
What? Shit. I just got news that the ritual was traced back by an
elemental that was chewed up and spat out by something. The watcher that
was sent to report back was followed by a big and mean spirit that was
finally driven off by the Lone Star summoned elementals. We have an area,
though. Tacoma. Too bad that's not enough detail to tell us where to go,
although I'm sure that any home or appartment building that goes up in
smoke in the next 6 hours will probably be the right place.
Oh well.
The big news around Homocide is the woman we just found. Luckily, we found
her before the press did, and we're keeping everyone out. Hell, the only
reason I know is because Detective Pardy's been asked to look into it, and
she wanted me along to help. Not that the Captain's putting a huge load on
one detective, and because she and I work well together, me too. I wonder
if Pardy's right, about the Captain's sexism and misogyny. Being male, I
find it difficult to see sometimes. But back to the woman.
She's one of the Ancient's main leaders, and goes, or rather went, by the
name of Pauly Audio. Pauly Audio was supposedly in charge of a good chunk
of the Puyallup and Fort Lewis operations for the Ancients here in Seattle.
Not only was she murdered by someone as yet undetermined, but she was
particularly horribly murdered. I wonder how the rest of the metroplex
would react to hearing that one of the major Ancients was raped to death,
especially since after she was murdered she was dressed in purple robes
like some kind of matriarch. And I'm kind of glad I'm not one of her kids,
who are supposedly protected and safe, according to her only ID, at Haven.
I wouldn't like the job of telling them that some fragged up bastard raped
her until she died.
Something's going on here in Seattle, and it's bigger than just these
fraggin penny murders. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm sure the Dip
gestapo have some idea. If only they'd share thier ideas with Homocide, we
might be able to stop these fraggers before they take more lives.]<<<<<
