>>>>>[Good sir Chance: Haven is a home for children of all ages, whether
they
be orphans, street kids, runaways, or boarders. We currently have over 50
children of all ages here, with Morgan, at 18(and hardly a child anymore) the
eldest. All the children attend local schools and are boarded here at Haven.
We are non-profit and as such do not require payment in any form for our
boarding of anyone. I run Haven except when I am unavailable for one reason or
another, at which point either Saki or one of several other trusted friends
keeps the home running smoothly. The children are encouraged to find after-
school jobs, enjoy non-violent and non-gang oriented play, and are required to
help each other out when one of their friends becomes involved in something
other than what is sanctioned by Haven, like BTLs or gang activity. We offer
little security if that is what you need, but have an excellent relationship
with the local Lone Star officers who often help us when a boarder disappears.
However, they come only when called. After all, we are a simple home for
children. We have few rules, preferring to allow the children to make their
own rules, within certain limitations, of course.

If you do not choose to board Susan with us, I will understand completely.
Feel free to ask any questions you feel are pertinent.]<<<<<

has
decided that she wants to go hang out with Vertical's crew. Nothing against
you, its just that she wants to become a runner, and Vertical's place seems to
be more focused on runner development than yours.

To be honest, I think your place would probably be better, but I don't have
much control over her... she is, after all, an independantly minded
corp-child. *shrug*

Vertical, if I could talk to you ASAP about when you can take Susan to
wherever it is you're gonna take her, I would appreciate it. I would like to
make the hand-off tomorrow. If that is a problem, let me know. I'll be around.

Talk to you all later.]<<<<<

For those of you looking for a good place to donate time or money, I would

Keep up the good work.]<<<<<

"The scene outside Haven earlier this weekend was one of terror, as a
large organised band of terrorists and thugs assailed the walls of
Haven. Haven was created by it's owner Valentine some... "

>24.5mp Haven overview cut<

"The huge dome of magical energy sprung up over Haven during the attack,
eyewitnesses state that armed thugs, suicide bombers and mercenary teams
of terrorists had gained access to Haven's much vaunted 'peaceful'
grounds, and were manically killing everything they could get close to.
Mortar attacks from home built launchers were fired against the
encampment in concert with the ground attack. Though exactly what CoT
expected to achieve by assailing this centre of care and learnig is
unclear. As has been the majority of their campaign throughout the last
year. No political demands have been made, no logical argument brought
forward for the bombs and slaughters orchestrated by this band of
cutthroats and murderers.

"This latest attack by CoT terrorists has left the city reeling in
shock. Massive riots and running battles in the streets of northern
Redmond accompanied with the release of magical energies sufficient to
bring down several stories of an old apartment building. The complete
destruction of another building in Touristville and scattered attacks
around Seattle seem to indicate that the full fledged campaign of
violence promised by the self proclaimed leader of CoT has begun.

"Although it has been reported that 1st lieutenant Jason Lynch of SIGA,
long a target of Abbadon's attacks was shot down while flying a MIG57
off Dellaware by a missile from an as yet unidentified launch point,
the reign of terror continues, against the words of Abbadon, who
promised an end to it all upon the man's death. It is not known whether
he has lost control of the momentum of the violence he instigated, or
that he has just decided to go ahead with his campaign regardless. No
comments have been available from the members of the CoT political wing
that haven't gone into hiding.

"Abbadon himself has been strangely silent during this time. Over the
last 48 hours this city has existed on the brink of a war on the
streets, with this attack on Haven the culminating event of the two day
long spree of violence. Police forces and Security are slowly returning
order to the streets, but the tension bubbling just beneath the surface
is tangible in areas that have suffered the worst violence.

"There has been no response to investigation and attempts to communicate
through this barrier with those inside Haven, and so far whomever placed
the barrier has shown no inclination to have it removed. Though
judging by the ferocity of the assault earlier today that is hardly
surprising. There has been speculation that the attack may have
seriously injured or even killed most of those within the compound, and
that it is possible there is nobody inside with sufficient power to
remove the warding that is in place. I will let you know more once
something more is known about what has occurred here.

"We can only wait, and see.

"Violence continues across the city tonight, with broken gunbattles
between extremists and Police, reprisal attacks scattered across
Puyallup and Renton continue to flare up, feeding the deep seated racial
hatred that is integral to these districts. It can only be hoped that
this will end soon, it won't take much more to create a war on the
streets that it is doubtful this city could survive. Already the wholly
inadequate manpower and equipment of Lone Star has been made evident in
these past days, the intensity of the conflict stretching their forces
to the limit. One can but speculate on the consequences of an increase
in the scale of this conflict.

"This has been Amanda Taylor reporting for MoonViews on Channel 13,
Haven."

And that ladies and germs, has got to be the most sensible move I've
ever seen in my life. Can't beat 'em, can't rely on the law to catch
'em. Fine, then dig yourself a deep hole, crawl in and pull the top
over you. Fuckin' A. No matter what happens to this city, at least one
decent thing will survive it.]<<<<<

And we out here can't tell - it could be true, or it could just be designed
to look that way. Before this barrier thing, Haven was quiet so no-one much
cared, but now, what it's come down to is the paranoia people have against
mages, especially powerful ones. And that isn't going away, even after all
these years - essentially because when it comes to IQ, our city's (hell,
our country's, maybe even our planet's) lowest common denominator is
_low_.]<<<<<

magic of the rituals, and then only because we fear its potential in the
hands of corporations such as Aztechnology. If the rumors of the use of
