>>>>>[Ho, dude.

I can't believe I did like you suggested and checked out Easy's place. I
think I saw her there, not like she would rec me on sight, but still.

"Hi, I'm that little breeder that helped you out one time, and generally
make a pest of myself on Shadowland."

No F*ing way. I stuck to being third norm on the left and drank my
brewskie like I was mindin' my own biz. Some mountain behind the counter
asks what I'd like to drink and I nearly piss myself. Luckily the brew
there's good.

So much for NJ the badass decker/shadowrunner. What did you say my
fighting style was? "Not in the face! Dear God, not in the face!" Love
to see you there, sometime. I woulda went with Fang, but I don't think he
likes that part of Seattle anyway. Now with him and his gf going uptown
on me. Besides, he always compares everything to "the Mecca" and
unfavorably at that. So I went there Solo. Like I'd tell Betty either.
She'd have me by the nads if she even heard I was headed down to Tarislar.

Yezu though, do they have a sweet songbird playing there. Good voice, not
hard on the eyes, mind you--nuther thing Betty'd kick my tail for if she
knew, esp. since I ended up going back more than once to see her. Weird
thing, is none of the local scene has heard word one on her, not that I
didn't spare a hound to sniff around. History's a black hole, but then
this is Tarislar. Doubt she even has a SIN let alone a chance at a real
contract. Love to pirate you something, but I don't want to risk setting
off their door-scanner and wind up on the wrong end of whatever scags
Easy's got running sec there.

So, where was I...yeah. When I went there tonight and was bummed cause
the girls not on for an hour or so. Weird tension in the place too, maybe
cause the psycho Haze finally got himself nailed, dunno. Here's the word
on that:

+++++append Haze.psycho-file.text

Besides the music, its also seeming to be good for helping my cashflow.
Few days back I get approached by this scab-red/black cloak. I'm three
steps from freaking, 'specially when it looks up at me and under the hood
is this silver mask, like some art-deco theater-job crosslinked through
Kyoto. Funky voice (modulator? dunno) asks me if I'm familiar with
Shadowland. I 1) try not to shit myself, and 2) ask why they want to
know. They tell me they noticed my jacks, and "this is the 'Eight, isn't
it?" or some suave BS, and that if I was familiar, we could do business.
So, I'm thinking, this ? doesn't know me from Fastjack, so I play my cards
right and get myself a tasty contract.

I try to play it cool and stop my hand from shaking hard enough to knock
the head of my beer, and nod them over to a booth. So we sit down and
they're asking me if I could set them up an S-Land acct. I'm like, yeah,
null persp, but I don't like to work for people that hide behind masks.
Makes me think Double-X an all that.

2 ns man, and I am like straight from piss to drool. I don't know what
doc did her skinjob, but shit-you-not, this elf chica's face would be a
lethal weapon to any bastich over 80. My price is starting to fall faster
than my eyes down her neckline, before I reality-check. Eyes-forward,
jaw-up, I start nailing down the particulars.

Her interface is this 4 yr old PoS pocksec. I'm like starting to feel
sorry for the girl and offer, for a few months advance, I'll upgrade her
to something worth holding onto. She's like kinda nostalgic about the
thing, something about hell and back, so I'm going 'kay, just the guts,
but you can hardly run any decent ware on something that old and I can't
guarantee security. Frigging chill hit the booth right there. She goes
bone cold on me and tells me that for her, and _my_ security, I would make
sure of _her_ security on her SLand access, and that I wouldn't go into
her system and be as hands-off on her acct. as I could other than to make
sure it was still up and running.

She gives me a serious impression that her line of biz _ain't_ a party, so
I'm being total capitulation. No prob, I'm always no-peek on all my
clientele (yeah, like one guy, and shit, I useta peek at Fangs now and
then, but shit, with her, I'm not going to go there. F* that. Ain't
sticking my neck out for curiousity. Riiight.) We talk price and I'm
thinkin she's alluding threat so I jack the price acordingly, plus X%
fudge-factor for extra profit. She catches wind of the BS and talks me
down. Still, quite a bit more than Fang's paying, so I'm happy. Weird
thing is, I'm staring at her and thinking to myself, "Girl, there are
other ways than cred for paying off your debts." And she smiles. I'm bout
to freak and she's 180 deg personality-wise on me, pondering something
about "any other way she could get me to lower the rate." Luckily the
thought of Betty strangling me w/ my own intestine yanks me back and was
like, "Fraid not." Bugger it all though. But we had a deal.

Anyhow, I should have it all set up soon. I meet her at the 'Eight with
her upgraded pocksec tomorrow and the acct. and all the reroutes, shells
encrypts, etc. is all setup. So, next time you wander through Seattle's
nodes and see Quicksilver, you too can bask in the glory of my handiwork.
Another satisfied customer. I hope.

How is HK this time of year?]<<<<<
