down and everybody running after the bugs, they've gone and done something
awful down in Southern Illinois... like taken over a city.

I'm not sure what kind of information would be helpful at this point, but the
city in question is Anna -- they've driven all the metas into Jonesboro, 2 km
SE. It's making us shadowy types here in Springfield even more nervous than
the recent influx of Chicagoland muscle.]<<<<<

inbredding breeding gone horribly awry. Directly responsible (and
proud of it) for the Night of Rage in Seattle (which went nuts and
spread), the Shattergraves in Chicago, the odd kidnapping and
ultimate death of metahuman symapthizers, you get the idea. Very
well funded, very aggressive, hate filled bastards. And the Hand of
Five is said to be the worst of 'em.

We had some down here for a while, but the Yaks and Tongs just
couldn't stand the bad publicity. And 20K ruined their protection
rings. Even with the combined strength of a couple Yakuza clans, a
Tong group or five, every ork and troll gang on the East Side, a
chapter of the Ancients, neo-A's, shadowrunners, a couple of
megacorporate security teams and the CFS and Imperial governments
(actually working together, brings up lots of questions) it took them
seven months to hunt down and execute the leadership.

Lots of bodies. The terror didn't just extend to metahumans and
symathizers. They tried the same tactics against the Japanese. I
think that's what got the Japs to cooperate.

Seattle should have chased out their Humanis and 20Kers by now, but
there just isn't enough unity. San Fran may be screwed up, but the
various power groups around here depend on each other for balance.
They kick the crap out of each other constantly, but as soon as
somebody tries to move in, everybody turns on the intruders.]<<<<<

Actually, dont tell anyone, he is a pretty nice and caring guy once
you get to know him. I went I first came on here at ISM I used to run
with some of his gang members. Thats where I picked up my second favorite
deck -- My SkyLight 2000. You should check the trucks out on this babe.
It is a DREAM in the half pipe but sucks on open ground. I usually style
with the 2k and ride the other skateboard on open road.

Actually, I wanted to say something -- is everyone on the ShadowLand Net
so...helpful? Its just strange that people are randomly offering to kill
people for me. You arent like that, are you? A hired killer willing to
kill for just anyone?

Whatever.]<<<<<

Hell, I was doing stuff like this since... well, let's just say a
long time. I practically cut my teeth on this kind of action.

Much as I hate to admit it, now I'm addicted to the organization of
it all. I like watching things go off well and knowing I was
responsible. 'Course that cuts both ways...

But, anyway, yeah, me and Skuff just speak different dialects of the
same language. He even let me talk him letting me dice the brains

On the side, how godd are your... phamaceutical contacts? I've got a

In San Fran we live with racism everyday. It's become an

>>>>>[Lots of chatter, none of it much use. You know the drill; all the
crazies who wish they had the means or the guts to go do some "direct
action" are leaping on the bandwagon. We've got a Red Hand Chapter
forming up right here in Black Diamond, for Chrissakes, a bunch of
teenagers who probably couldn't find Los Alamos on a map let alone be
members of the Thousand Score Martyrs, but they think this is The Answer
To The Metahuman Problem and they're wandering around trying to work out
where "World of Plastique" and "Bombs-R-Us" are in the mall.

If anyone knows anything real, they aren't saying it in Auburn. I've got
Zimmermann thumping the tub about how these crimes are destroying
Humanis - having a couple of firebombs lobbed at the meeting hall doors
last night helped make the point - and we might get a tip if someone
here overhears something... we did put the word around about Chapter
247, and that really scared the hell out of people, which might be
useful. Do you know what actually happened there, or where they all
went?

I'm inclined to believe, though, that this is either a setup, someone
trying to pass something off as us; or else some hard-core Alamos from
out of town. There just hasn't been anyone in this league in the
Northwest for a while, and guys like this don't just spring from
nowhere. I'm asking, but I don't expect many answers; downside of
Zimmerframe being a dove is that we don't get much information on the
direct-actioners.

We'll keep trying, but don't hold your breath.]<<<<<

>>>>>[I'd appreciate it if I could have everyone's attention for a
moment... I got the following piece of footage from the security cameras in
a small mom-and-pop store in the Renton area... no sound, sorry...

+++++Begin footage

The camera is set in a corner between two walls, and has a fisheye lens so
that, albeit with some distortion, all of the store is visible. It is
small, the shelves squeezed in fairly tightly, and three people are
currently present. A male ork, balding, middle-aged mans the counter,
standing there watching the second, an elf woman, as she wanders through
the aisles. A third man, a Japanese human, is leaning up against the
counter next to the ork, looking idly around the store.

Suddenly the Japanese man moves, his hand going under his leather jacket,
but before it comes out again, three people in Humanis headgear have
enterred the field of view, one carrying a shotgun, the other two armed
with what looks like axe-handles. A blastb from the shotgun shreds the legs
of the Japanese man, and he goes down with an unheard shriek. The guy with
the shotgun approaches the counter, weapon raised in one hand and pointed
at the ork, who backs up against the wall. One of the other two starts to
beat the Japanese man with his club, and the third chases the elf woman to
the other end other end of the store. The man with the shotgun brings it to
within 3 inches of the ork's face, and the ork says something, shaking his
head. The man who was chasing the elf catches her, smashing her kneecap
with his club, and kicks her in the head as she falls. He starts moving
towards the Japanese man, then the guy with the shotgun holds up his left
arm, and they begin to leave the store. As they go, the guy with the
shotgun puts a few rounds through some of the shelves as a parting present.

+++++End footage

The owners got no joy from the Star, but one of them knew someone who's
brother knew a guy, and so it came to my attention. The PMLF has >>small
sum<< plus any amount of warm fuzzy feelings for the runner who finds out
what he can about this (somone up there has to know _something_), and gives
the culprits a damn good thumping.]<<<<<

blatant or bloody: they'd have stuck to baseball bats and pickaxe

The store got hit because they pay protection to the Crimson Hawks, and
Some One Else wanted to make a point that Crimson Hawks protection isn't
worth squat.

In other words, time to duck and cover because someone _really_ wants to
slot off that particular Yak clan. First their negotiator, then one of
their BTL deals, now this. So far no reaction from the Hawks. Maybe
because, like me, they don't know who to retaliate against.
