Subj: Command Changes in Enforcement Division

It is my sad duty to inform you that Commander Adam Buchanon has been killed in
the line of duty. The details of the case are on record, so I will leave my
description brief: the Commander was leading a team on a mission to retrieve a
kidnapped little girl who had been transported across UCAS borders into the NAN
when his team was decimated in an ambush. There was a leak in our division
that cost the Commander his life.

I have been promoted to the position of Commander of Enforcement Division, and
I would like to make a kind of unorthodox request of you if I may. No matter
how much the beauraucrats back at headquarters dislike Special Branch, I can't
help but feel that it is the least laden with corruption of all the branches of
InterPol. I'd like your help in weeding out some of the corruption that is
affecting my branch. Sometimes it takes an outside view to find the problems,
but I'd still like to keep this 'in the family' so to speak.

Thanks for your time, Paul. Take care. ]<<<<<

Subj: Welcome aboard

Sorry to hear about Commander Buchannon. He was a decent man.

Congratulations on your promotion. Unfortunately for InterPol, death of a
superior officer is usually the way we get promoted.

If you would like, I can have a couple of my intelligence analyst deckers
come over to your division and sift through records for unusual payments,
missing time, etc. It might point out some discrepancies. I'd suggest
contacting Internal Affairs, but they're probably already there. I know at
least three of my officers are working for IA as well as me.

I truly hate office politics....

Welcome aboard, Commander. I sincerely hope that you'll last longer than
your predecessor.]<<<<<
