A wide campus is seen in the background. Some older red bricked buildings
mix with newly built glass and steel constructs. In the foreground a smiling
brunette reporter starts to speak into the camera.

"...this is Kassie Weiss speaking for STEL-WNN, and I'm here at the main
campus of the University of Washington. A few minutes ago a Lone Star
spokesperson acknowledged the death of one student of the thaumaturgical
faculty."

In the upper right corner the small picture of an elf with brown hair and
piercing blue eyes appears while the camera zooms at one of the windows
which seem to belong to some living quarters. Movement can be imagined in
the dark room.

"He was found here in his quarters by his fellow student, Emily B."

The camera pans back to Kassie who is accompanied by a young blonde human
woman.

"Emily, can you tell us what happened a few hours ago?"

"Well I was ... I'mean, well OK, I went to Macky, because we had this
lecture about thaumaturgical second order spells. I had a call on my
answering machine that I should come this morning. So I came by his room
just before the
lecture, but...but...he wasn't answering my knocks."

With effort she pushed out the last words, obviously she is still very moved
by the happenings.

"But you wouldn't walk away that easily, wouldn't you?" the reporter asks.

"No!", Emily shakes her head. "I tried the handle. His room wasn't locked,
so I opened the door just a bit and stuck my inside. And ... and ..."

Her stream of words is now interrupted by more and more sobs, some tears run
down her cheeks.

"...and there he was dangling from the ceiling."

"He wasn't struggling anymore, wasn't he?"

"No."

"That was just confirmed by the Lone Star spokesman, who said that Macky G.
was dead for at least 48 hours before Emily found him."

The camera zooms back on Kassie, while Emily is lead away by a medical
assistant.

"The spokesman also mentioned that there were no signs of struggle in the
room and that a letter was found but the content hasn't been made public
yet."

The picture of Macky G. appears again along with another three pictures.

"These three magicians, all students of the University of Washington or
closely related to it disappeared during the last three weeks. Also just 72
hours ago a fifth mage was found dead in an alley just a few blocks away."

"Somehow all these incidents seem to be related, but no one seems to be
making the connection. This is Kassie Weiss reporting for STEL-WNN about the
incidents at the University of Washington."
