This seems to be a time of strange occurrences, to hear of the assassination
of the leader of the BIS, Erik Schmidt, in Berlin by none other than one
of his own operatives!
This past Tuesday saw the appearance of yet another gift, delivered by the
most unusual of couriers.
An ork by the trade moniker of Rebar (who we have recently determined to
be possessing of significant connections with the Yakuza) requested an
audience, which was granted under armed escort ... the only statement of
any significance was this:
"Sorry for intruding upon your privacy. I was given a package to deliver.
The person who gave it to me is dying from a stomach wound so she couldn't
deliver this herself. I would carry a message back to the original sender
of the package but I'm afraid that I cannot do as such, because he is
working against my employer. I wish you the best of luck."
He then left our presence without further word or hindrance.
The package proved to be, much to our surprise, an ornate masque. Now, I
have a better handle on Japanese art than Native American expression: The
mask dates back to the 1600s, which places it in the early period of the
Tokugawa shogunate ... fascinating chapter of history, my husband has done
a bit of research into it in the past. The craftsmanship of the piece is
absolutely incredible.
However, the card enclosed brought both delight and pain to my heart:
"Thinking of you, and wishing I was anywhere but here.
May you continue to improve in health, and may you find happiness.
-- Nightmare"
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, wherever you may be.
***** PRIVATE: Nightmare
I am uncertain that this will reach you, but Doom assures me the message
is completely secure from tampering of surveillance.
Can we assist, in any way?
Naturally, we want to repay the kindness you have extended to us, and a
little jaunt from the castle, in the wake of recuperation would be most
welcome. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[ Yeah, decided on a little Spring Break and ... errr, break-in.
Ooooh ... looks like the Druids on the list don't like ol' Saint
Patrick. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[ Yeah, well ... I'm of partially Irish descent, and I'm going to be
celebrating, no matter what other people say. ]<<<<<
-- Sonic Boom <15:16:15/03-17-56>
>>>>>[ Yes, and I'll be bank-rolling tonight's celebration (read: getting
utterly sloshed fest), being a might Irish myself ... but, in light of the
other's objections, let's remember the valuable lesson of TOLERANCE.
We tolerate you; you tolerate us. Remember, no side has a monopoly on
violence: there were bunches of Christian (peaceful) missionaries murdered
(or martyred) by Pagans and Druids.
And, yes, it's true that Christianity (and OTHER religions, too) has been
spread by fire and sword to other cultures.
No one can speak from a position that isn't stained with a little blood.
I say there's no reason to dredge up old grudges as an excuse to fight ...
there's plenty of other reasons, no reason to get the dead involved.
'course, if Doom were here, he'd accuse me of being typical of Americans
in that we have such a "myopic view of history."
So, Happy Saint Patrick's Day to those who shall be celebratin'. ]<<<<<
