The scene is a backroom. A single body is sprawled on the floor, and
five bullet holes in his chest indicate he won't raise again. The corpse
is clad in military camouflage clothes. Along the back wall are several
humanoid shapes, wrapped in something organic. The picture zooms to one
of the shapes and reveals what seems to be a male human, naked apart
from what seem to be silken threads that envelop him completely.
A hand appears, holding a large combat knife. Cautiously the knife cuts
some threads near the throat. An identification tag becomes visible.
After another zoom, it becomes readable, identifying the person as Sgt
Frank Walker, UCAS Marine corp. There is a sigh, then the tag is

The soldiers were about to be possessed, I was informed. They are
dead. We found maps, plans, and strategies to break the wall in both
sides. We collected these, and will hand it to the military. As far as I
know, there must still be some people in the force who are unaffected.
We just don't know who they are...

You hear the tired voice of Fohdytoo who talks monotonous, without much
emphasize. The voice of a person way too tired. "By the evidence we
found at the warehouse it is obvious the bugs had contact with the
border guards, possibly even infiltrated them. From here, we can't
determine how far this infiltration is spread, nor what the nature of
the infiltration is "possession or bribery.
"As half the mercenaries we hired as backup are dead, and Canis is still
unconscious, ODIN decided to leave this hellhole. We will return to the
checkpoint we were briefed at." There is a deep sigh.
"As we have no way to determine who is a bug as long Canis is down, we
will try to convince this contact Lynch Orion had contact with to meet
us there, as they seem to trust him."
There is a pause, then Fohdytoo continues with a tone of sorrow:
"Our casualties... Well, sad as it is, we had most losses through
human attacks rather then bugs. Although there are still supply
drops by the military, people are hungry and desperate, and weapons are
priceless. Gang and paramilitary groups dominate and rule areas, and
even seem to collaborate with the hives in some cases, trading humans
for security.
MO for ODIN is now to shoot anyone who approaches the team, without
warning. Drek, people even turned to cannibalism for what we hear. The
people in the zone will barely live through the summer, and with the
current lack of essentials they have no chance to live through the next
winter. Or even any rainstorm that will further the epidemics.
