Subject: MONICA's back, and you're gonna be in trouble...
Date: Mon, 7 Feb 1994 21:13:47 -0500
>>>>>[ I am currently transporting the lady to Seattle as you requested,
WHAT. I would not be posting now, but this waypoint has a terminal and
I saw the news about MONICA. I thought she had been destroyed, and all
fragments of her code self-destructed? I think I still have my piece of
her motherboard lying in my home somewhere, in fact. Perhaps... I might
have an idea of how she came to be... I seem to remember someone said
that you could find little bits and pieces of the code in nooks and
crannies all around the Matrix, all harmless. Perhaps a number of these
fragments came together (or were brought together??) and the collective
programming was enough to reinstate Monica? I would suppose that once
enough was merged to give her some awareness (effectiveness? activeness?)
she could have roamed the Matrix collecting more bits and gradually building
herself up again... This does not bode well for deckers, if she continues
as she did last year. At times like this, I am glad my welfare does not
depend upon the Matrix...

Necromancer, the victim was assaulted by MONICA, who has taken on a
persona sculpted as a dragon. He was not attacked by Barney; I think
the least of us, or even you, could deal with that.

May the Powers bend their aid to all, and help us survive this menace.

abil-
ities? Specifically, how is she able to affect people with terminals (like me),
and so on...

I don't want to have this term screwed up...and I certainly don't want any AI
that's taken over the world before to touch my money.

Child, does the name MONICA mean anything to you?]<<<<<

disconnect yourself from the Matrix before you get yourself fried <especially if
you are using a tortoise, sheesh>.]<<<<<

I'm
not going to let my terminal just sit around. It's worse than letting it get
fried.

And I'M not getting fried. That's why I'm a tortise, Necromancer.]<<<<<
