Good afternoon, I'm Charlie Fingers, and this is the news. In the biggest
story so far today, 23 members of the Humanis Policlub are presumed dead.
Approximately an hour ago a barking dog and the strong smell of blood
alerted Lone Star officers on patrol to something being amiss in this small
office building.

The details of the scene are sketchy, but Lone Star has released this statement:

"We belive that there were some 23 Humanis members in the chapterhouse when
the person or persons attacked. However, no bodies have been recovered,
and forensics has had a difficult time identifying the few remains. In
addition, it appears that the attack on the chapterhouse was nearly
completely magical in origin."

Lone Star spokesmen have not yet given any further statements or answered
any questions regarding the attack....

That's about all Mr. Fingers had to say on the matter, but it appears that
there were a few more interesting items to be found in Lone Star's
forensics database.

Item 1: There was a large quantity of blood found on the scene, but no
bodies to which it could be positively connected. The main room of the
chapterhouse was almost literally painted with it, almost as if the blood
had boiled or been put in an paint gun and sprayed unevenly around.

Item 2: The number of bodies, 23, is presumed only by the chapterhouse
membership list and the members which have been located and put into
protective custody. In addition, the volume of blood could not have come
from any less than 18 individuals. DNA analysis has not yet determined the
exact number of dead.

Item 3: Lone Star apparently has seen this kind of thing before, and are
looking for any and all houngans, of Voudoun priests and priestesses. They
apparently feel that this is the work of a Petro rite houngan.

Item 4: Because the bodies are missing, Lone Star is considering the
possibility that the person(s) responsible for the attack are thinking of
creating zombies out of them.

Item 5: InterPol apparently has a few ideas as well, and are looking into
them. They apparently think that this is the work of a single person,
rather than a group. Unfortunately, InterPol remains one of the bastions
of old-time paper beaurocracy, and it's hard to use a computer to get at
paper files, so I don't know who they suspect.

Oh, Merry Christmas everyone!]<<<<<
