Good evening, I'm Charlie Fingers, here a the site of a Maxim Security Inc.=
raid on a Children of Thunda grain farm. MSI reportedly recieved an=
anonymous tip from an informant that there were terrorists here, and with=
MSI providing security for a small biotech firm nearby, they were=
understandably concerned.
However, has Maxim overstepped its bounds? Lone Star and InterPol, the two=
organizations nominally in charge of this investigation, only recieved=
notice of the raid from Maxim minutes before Maxim raided the farm, killing=
31 and capturing only 8 terrorist defenders. And has Maxim used=
overwhelming force in thier quest for good public relations when less=
lethal force might have been more appropriate? This reporter wants to=
know, but as the area is officially closed off, your guess is as good as mi=
ne.
However, there have been rumors.... wait a second, wait a minute, there=
appears to be a Maxim spokeswoman coming out with the Lone Star detective=
sent down to take command of the farm from Maxim. Let's hear what they=
have to say.
Maxim Spokeswoman: "Maxim Security, the personal and public security branch=
of Maxim Arms, undertook a singularly dangerous raid earlier this evening,=
singlehandedly taking over this grain farm from the terrorists who were=
using it as a site from which to launch thier horrible attacks. Maxim=
Security informed Lone Star according to the proper proceedures, and we=
regret any appearance of heavy-handedness that our handling of this raid=
might produce. However, after talking with Detective Squach here, I'm=
convinced that our actions were right and within the law."
Detective Squach: "Earlier this evening, Maxim Security forces entered this=
facility and discovered a force of paramilitary training and ordnance. =
Once they had secured the area, Maxim Security discovered nearly 300=
various assault rifles, several thousand kilograms of misc. explosives,=
tens of thousands of rounds of various ammunition types, nearly 400 machine=
pistols and submachine guns, nearly 200 heavy and medium pistols, dozens of=
suits of body armor, 16 armored and armed vehicles including combat=
motorcycles and turreted vans, hundreds of thousands of nuyen worth of=
sattelite and tactical communications electronics, 4 120mm mortars and 2=
120mm recoilless rifles, plus shells to go with them.
In addition, a heavy truck was found carrying upwards of a million nuyen in=
BTLs and heavy drugs, a command and control communications center, plus 8=
drums of some as yet unidentified biochemical agent. Lone Star and Maxim=
scientists are cooperating to discover precisely just what the agent is. =
Finally, an ultralight which had been retrofitted for spray dispensing was=
also discovered, and while the sprayers are not beyond normal for a grain=
farm, there appear to be chemical traces of the same agent stored in the=
drums. Preliminary data on that agent indicate that it may be similar to=
the outlawed Doom biological warfare agent, but it's really too early to sa=
y.
Lone Star welcomes Maxim's assistance in taking these weapons of mass=
destruction out of the hands of terrorists and taking the weapons off the=
streets so that, with everyone's help, the terror and mayhem which has been=
plaguing the great city of Seattle will be a thing of the past here in=
short order."

There you have it. Talk about an obvious PR spin job for Maxim, but it'll=
probably work. Hell, I'd consider investing in Maxim Security after this=
gets out to all the networks. Maxim stock will probably jumb by 5 or 10%..=
