C: Croaker
D: Doc

C: Thank you for meeting me --

D: Can the sarcasm, Croaker. It's late - I'm tired and tomorrow could
very well be an extremely stressful day for me.

C: I'm sorry that Midnight's job has you all in a wad, but I thought
we did things as a group and not loner jobs whenever we felt the need.

D: I owed Midnight a favor and he called it. Besides, he paid the
crew very well for the part that he need us all for.

C: So? If you owe him a favour then so do we.

D: This is different.

C: (Sighs.) We've been down this path before, Doc. I don't think
this is different. Just so we don't retread the same disagreements,
I'll move on to why I requested this meeting. Have you been following
the MercNode?

D: I haven't had the time nor the proper 'trix access to scan it.

C: Rumours have it that Legion is getting its ass handed to it by the
opposition it is up against.

D: That is unfortunate. However, it is a part of the hazards of their
lifestyle.

C: I think it is time to re-consider our options.

D: Perhaps. Personally, I just want to get through Midnight's
Christmas bash in one piece. Afterwards, when I have time to
recollect, I'll give some cycle's to the implications of what is being
said about Legion on some node that may or may not have the 'trons of
the matter.

C: I think --

D: Croaker, I don't have time for this discussion. I realize it is
important to study it, but this is not the time. It was hard enough to
get away to even meet you here. Midnight needs me 100% focused on the
events on hand. I'm sure, whether he will admit it or not, that he
needs to be focused on the local events too. If he cannot spare the
time to follow the news of old comrades, than I -- as I repay my debt
-- owe him that focus as well.

C: But --

D: Don't even say it, Croaker. I owe him a lot for his friendship and
things he has done that were well above the duties of a friend both for
myself, for the crew, and for Geiger.

C: Fine.

D: Croaker ... I hope you believe me when I say this, but there are a
thousand other places I rather be celebrating Christmas than here, in
New Orleans, preparing for what could be a very ugly job. Personally,
I rather be with you all in Kansas City.

Good night, Croaker. Please pass on my "Merry Christmas" to the rest
of the crew. ]<<<<<
