>>>>>[Dark Elf: Don't do it. Now and Yen is a creep, and reputed to be a
double dealer for anyone with the NewYen. If you plan on going anyway
(like I suppose you will) be very careful. Seems like it's Elf Hunting
season, lately. Just be warned: He might be on your side right now, but
I have been told that he will sell out at anytime. Not a man who plans on
living long, or perhaps a man who knows how to hide for long periods of
time. One more thing: Have you ever HAD sushi? Erg...]<<<<<

I'd bet good money that you won't find him there, but you will find Tommy
Harada. And remember I lived because he wasn't out to get me. You have a big
Dragon-sized target on your icon. ]<<<<<

you do. He USED to be with the Yaks, but is part of a faction that joined up
with Tommy Harada when he went rogue. Despite the well meant warnings, I still
went out for sushi. That little trip lasted me the whole weekend and revealed
a lot about what has been going on. Rather than paraphrase, I'm including
edited excerpts from my pocket sec....

>> You must be "Now and Yen." <<
>> Yes I am, but I am not the one who wishes to see you. <<
>> Who is then. <<
>> He is <<
<Astonished gasp from DE>
>> YOU! I wasn't expecting to meet you so soon! <<
>> Yes Dark Elf, there are two dragons in New York. One of them has
scales and breathes fire, the other is me! <<
>> I had guessed that you would try to get to me, especially after what
you did to one of my associates when you were in Seattle! <<
>> Ah yes, the one called Nightstalker, you saw that as the message it
was intended to be. I assume you have tried to check my background,
as I have done the same regarding you. <<
>> Of course I did. <<
>> And what did you find? <<
>> Just records of your known exploits with the Yakuza, and before that,
nothing, as if you didn't exist until you started working for them. <<
>> Exactly! There is something you should know, I have no memories of my
life before the Yakuza. My memory begins where my records begin.
I found your records to be cleverly altered, misdirected, and leading to
an maze of other false records. Although it is well hidden from prying
eyes, your story is complete, as are your memories. <<
>> You must know of what my team and I have discovered. <<
>> Yes, you suspect that I am a genetically engineered super-soldier.
you also have suspicions about where and how I was made. <<
>> Yes, it all ties back to MagnaTech. <<
>> I must know who and what I am! I've given up my ties with the Yakuza
to search for this! I have put my life in jeopardy for this! Even
despite my abilities I cannot evade them forever. The truth is worth
even the ultimate price. <<
>> Mr. Harada, I believe that this information is in my posession. I can't
be certain until I decipher most of the data I collected. The bio-lab
equipment I acuired from the MagnaTech ruin seems to have all the parts,
but I'm no bio-engineer, nor am I prescient enough to tell what it has
been used for without consulting the data banks. <<
>> Ah yes, you must be wondering why you are still alive! If you can solve
the riddle of my past you have nothing to fear from me, you will even
have my respect. <<
>> What about Tirandor, he obviously knew something about all this. The
bio-lab is probably the reason he tried to buy the company. <<
>> I believe that he only knew that MagnaTech was in possession of a very
valuable facility, and had secretly developed some new military
technology. <<
>> And we both know that he is a great collector of military technology.
If I may be so bold, I think that we should.... <<
>> GET DOWN! <<

< sounds of gunfire, sounds of flesh hitting flesh, sounds of three bodies
falling to the ground >

>> Now and Yen is dead I'm afraid. He was of great help when I left the
Yakuza, but now... ...enough of this, we'd better leave. <<
>> Agreed! Look, these men were carrying DDI security ID. I can guarantee
that there will be more! <<
-------< end excerpt >-----

I spent the next two days with Tommy "the dragon" Harada in one of his many
hideouts. <I won't say where since it will probably nullify his agreement not
to kill me if I help him> I had never seen him in action except on trids, and
even though the two DDI hitmen were chipped to the max, they were dead before
Now and Yen was, even though he was hit five times. I've finally started
decrypting the files from the lab, and it's all techinical data so far, no
project logs yet. The lab was indeed set up for force-growing clones to
adulthood, and for growing alpha-grade bioware. They also had some kind of
skillsoft driven system involving neural induction that may be able to
impress a personality on a "blank" brain. There are also a set of genelogical
data files based on sources refered to only as donors alpha through delta.
Metting the most dangerous operative in the know world is quite an experience.
Living to tell about it is indescribable! ]<<<<<

>>>>>[ Tommy Harada!!!!!! When we found the lab, I figured we were right
about
him, but having him sortof on our side is really freaky! Don't feel like we
were left out, DDI came looking for all of us. Three of them went home in body
bags, and the rest never found us. Tirandor must be hopping mad! ]<<<<<
---OddBall <13:42:57/02-08-54>

>>>>>[ While you were off drinking green tee with Harada, my sources tell
me
that Tirandor has put his MagnaTech shares up for sale. This confirms that
we have what he was after. Before we captured the lab, Tirandor had been
making bids for the MagnaTech divisions that Yoshida was putting up for sale.
My sources also tell me that Tirandor practically begged Yoshida not to split
up MagnaTech, not that I can imagine a Dragon begging. It would seem that
he couldn't find the lab, and was planning on keeping tabs on us until we got
close then grabbing it from us. Your plan was great DE, you suspected someone
was monitoring us, and used a little misinformation to find out who. ]<<<<<

few
days. I could try calling some pals who used to be in the army though, anyone
else hear anything? Maybe you should ask Harada about them DE. ]<<<<<
