>>>>>[Wouldnt be the first time someone at 'tech decided to appropriate
funds to create their own little strike team.

Believe it or not, thats how I started. Fresh out of college and recruited
into an Aztech research team. 6 months into we turned into a strike team
and asset liquidation team. At the time we all thought we were full Aztech
employees. Right up until the point where our boss tried to cut his losses
by sending both of his strike teams against one another.

That little fiasco screwed my career to hell. Do you have any idea how hard
it is to submit a resume to a corp with 3 years of your life blank? Aztech
wouldnt even acknowlege that I worked there until I threaten law suits. Luckily
that worked.

As to your needs -- I still have some friends in Aztech which may or may not
be of use. Ill take a look into that file in a couple of minutes.

Hey, if you want, you can bring that vid down to my place and we can run
it through the editing software I have. If anything would show tampering,
that will. I have a friend who is pretty good with video work who could
take a look at it with us. Ill give him a call and be ready for
you in about an hour. Griff, why dont you come on down too. Ill order Gracies
and plenty of napkins. Speaking of which...]<<<<<

very difficult to tell in this impersonal medium. Accept my apologies.

So why try and start this war? Excellent question. Magicians? Some
secret cabal bent on world domination? Seems obvious. Too obvious in fact.

No, I'd lay an evening, all expenses paid, at Rick's Cafe' Americain that
someone else, someone with an agenda like that of CAPCOM is actually behind
it all. These sort of terrorist actions strengthen who the most? The
magical community or those who want to lock us in chains and force us to do
their "community service?" I'd argue it's the slavers, the ones like
CAPCOM. They are the ones that win here; NPR Matrix radio is reporting
that some congress critter has already introduced a bill making it a felony
to be an unlicensed magician. That's a victory already for CAPCOM, not to
mention their leader is now a martyr to the cause.

Frag it. If only I was in Seattle right now...]<<<<<

deliberately
raising all their "opposition" (read: the rest of the world) and nearly forcing
them

In fact, I can't believe an black ops or runner team would be stupid enough to take
such a job. Leaves those CAPCOM people (probably not the onew who got
killed...) or - just to include large-scale thnking - some foreigners who want to
seperate magicians from the UCAS nation - even more then some of us are
seperated even now, that is.

Anyone got any clues? I am willing to pay for paydata (although not as much as
I'd like - I am no corporation to throw the money around), ]<<<<<

to drive a point home? Make a statement, and then prove it? No?

So, Hallam stands up on prime time, and announces to the world that he's
going to fight for registration, then a bunch of people, exactly the
ones he's talking about come along and turn him into silly putty. So,
what can we conclude form this?

A) It was a set up, this was the desired conclusion all along.
B) Somebody is behind all this. Hallam and the "psycho mages" are
pawns.
C) Someone who is pushing through a bill in Congress right now, needs
sympathy for that bill.

So what is it?

Greater powers against magically active?
Extended laws to cover magical crime?
Greater funding for DPI units?
Federal investment in a specialised DPI agency?
Or just a bunch of assholes havin' some fun.

Look behind the scene, not /at/ the scene.

Of course, there is another question. One that a certain SIGA operative
used to ask /all/ the time. "What else is going on?"

Think about it beveryody. The answer is there, and it's staring you in
the face. But it ain't in the pictures on your TriD set.]<<<<<

mages, I feel that if this goes on, more and more people will die...for this
