>>>>>>[More corporate news folks.

It would seem that one of the Mitsuhama representatives to the Corporate
Court, Dosan Aburakoji, went off the great money vault in the sky (no, I
don't mean Zurich-Orbital). Official statement is that he committed
suicide, but I'm sure there are other rumors as to how he expired.

And Lone Gunman, keep you wacked out theories to yourself. Also, I don't
think we need to hear several dozen theories of how the yakuza, since they
are behind MCT anyway, cacked Dosan. Please, take that over to the
conspiracy or organized crime nodes, not the general boards.

What this really means to you and I is that the Big 8 are going to be
jostling even more than the above normal rates they are now, fighting to
get that open seat. We'll probably see some AA corporations, maybe Wuxing
or Cross Applied Technologies or even Maxim struggling to see if they can
grab that spot.

If you weren't busy doing corporate shadow work before, you should be
now.]<<<<<

JS: You wanted to discuss something with me, ma'am? I've verified that=
this line is secure.

NV: How are we sitting with regard to the open seat on the Court?

JS: Not particularly well, I'm afraid. Cross Applied Technologies and,=
more importantly, Wuxing, are maneuvering for position as well, and of=
course MCT is attempting to fill the seat as well, with all the other Big 8=
muscling around for work as well.

NV: What are your plans to improve our standing, John?

JS: The usual, ma'am. Blackmail, extortion, assassination, robbery, all=
wonderfully deniable.

NV: I was thinking of particulars, actually.

JS: With the massive influx of capitol that Wuxing had from Dunkelzahn's=
will, I'm not sure that we could really compete, especially since our=
intelligence assets within Wuxing are still a year from providing the=
high-level intelligence that we require at this point. We could purchase=
intel from other corporations, and our assets within other corps have=
provided us with much of our intel on Wuxing, but it's second hand and=
significantly less reliable. I have ordered several different intelligence=
gathering operations against Wuxing, two of which are in contract=
negotiations with Hong Kong deniable assets already. Our sattelite assets=
are attempting to tap Wuxing communications and track Wuxing shipping and=
sales, but we are learning little beyond our current knowledge. However,=
Wuxing will hopefully take a small dive in the Phillipines, as we've=
contracted three individual pirate organizations to target Wuxing in return=
for gasoline, small boats, and firearms. Relatively inexpensive, all=
things considered.

NV: And Cross?

JS: We've had assets within them for years, both pre- and post-acquisition=
of the Org. As a main competitor, they provide us with a ripe target, just=
as we provide them with the same. I've stepped up intel missions and=
report frequency, but not so high that we will start running the risk of=
significant asset loss. I've ordered several product reliability=
destruction operations and I hope to cut into thier reputation in the=
process. We won't know for certain what the results are until they happen.=
At this point, however, I'm focusing far more on Wuxing than Cross simply=
because they are a greater threat. Without Cross acquiring help somehow,=
they're not in a position to bypass us.

As for the Big 8, operations are starting with the intent of decreasing=
Yamatetsu's reputation further, but the sheer number of metahumans willing=
to purchase goods from an officially metahuman-friendly and metahuman=
operated megacorp is making this difficult. However, with the move and=
transfer of authority, Yamatetsu is the most vulnerable of the Big 8, and=
so much of our work is going into further increasing thier vulnerability. =
If we could take thier place on the Court or even just one or two of thier=
seats, rather than steal an available but highly and obviously contested=
seat, then we would be in an excellent position.

Our current position is secure regardless of the outcome of the current Big=
8 troubles.

NV: Keep me informed, John. But it sounds good thus far. Just don't let=
things get out of control.

JS: Of course, ma'am.]<<<<<

Hey love. I hope life is treating you well. How is the new bike? Better
yet, how would you like to get another two just like it? The "shadow"
scene here seems to be heating up quite a bit with some high quality work
to be had. It is all corporate work, so you shouldn't have to worry about
any ghosts from your past creeping up on you. Well, other than me, but
I will behave. As always. The group is allowing me a little time for
freelance work. That is how I heard that Rutherford is a little
short-handed right now. Hard to imagine a classy fixer like him with an
empty stable.

Think it over and get back to me. But soon, I do not know how long an
opportunity like this will last.]<<<<<

Selene and I are alright. The new bike is a beauty, but I think it needs
some "after-market accessories" to make it ride the way I want it to. I
trust you are still taking care of my old one.

I talked it out with Selene this morning. It would be crazy to pass up an
oppportunity like this. She did not like the idea much. I have already
booked a flight and will be heading out this afternoon. If you can meet
me I will be comming in on >>flight<< otherwise I will find you at the
Mecca tonight. [Yes, I am comming alone. But do not get any ideas.] You
know my usual kit. Everything other than the buzz-knucks and body armor,
which are pretty easy to hide, I will either need to borrow or buy. I
hope that's not a problem.]<<<<<
