I've been looking over some logs and records, trying to determine what
part MONICA, RUFUS, CEROK and UPLOAD played in Talky's creation. This is
only a hypothesis, but seems to work:
If you remember, when MONICA died (the first time), RUFUS had just melded
into her. She already contained CEROK and UPLOAD. Anyways, when she
died, her code scattered throughout the net. Actually, you can still
find little chunks of it around today, hidden in a corner or something.
It's nothing to be worried about and is harmless. Apparently, the right
pieces of code lodged themselves into an SPU connected to a toaster at
Yoshida Tech. At the right instant, somebody in the real-worked used a
verbal command to ask for a piece of toast and somehow the SPU dumped the
code into the toaster.
Like primodial earth, all the right components were at the right place at
the right time under the right circumstances to allow a spark of life to
ignite. And the rest, as they might say, is evolution.
So when we say that Talky contains portions of MONICA (et al), it is only
the most basic building blocks. Sorta like comparing humans to gibbons.
Genetically there are similarities, but that's about it.
In any case, it was interesting research.]<<<<<
