>>>>>[ Due to a Lone Star raid against my hangout the other day, I haven't
been
able to say anything until now.

It seems that our spider shaman has more than a few friends entering Seattle,
but being that the spider is a solitary animal, I am sure these spiders are
working at cross purposes in a lot of cases. I followed one of the shaman into
an old warehouse in the Pullyup district, and proceeded to be ambushed by two
spider spirits while she got away. Not nice by a long shot.

Since the spiders other than the Widowmaker have taken an interest in me, I am
offering my services to those who plan to hunt down these shamans. Your call
can reach me at **Encryptphone**, where we can discuss the details. ]<<<<<

related
to the purge.

Secondary target No 1 has revealed the operations of a large group of
orginizations collectively called "Illuminati." This individual was(past tense
intentional-body destroyed, no evidence) a member of the orginization called
the Sect. From the information gleaned from him under interrogation of both
physical and magical means, they have an orginization similar to ours but much
larger and inclusive in scope. They also claim to have existed for several
hundred years. This number, however, is assumed as the target died of systemic
shock in the middle of this sentence immediately after the word "hundred." Our
mages inform us that his mental conditioning was as extensive as ours and that
had we not been performing a very similar type of conditioning on our Agents
and Operatives and therefore been able to reverse the process that the target
would not have survived the first question. Even so, we only got about 6 solid
answers before catatonia and another 5 minutes of Probing before death.

when we meet it, and we will. The question is how many people are we going to
involve in this?

CB, I would like you to contact I.B.A. if you can and ask his help. I am going
to ask Dark Angel. Nightstalker if you would, please get in touch with
Highlander. I am also going to send out a general message, but not as
descriptive. Atleast, not until we meet with the people, I am going to be
setting up a virtual bar and see who shows up to help. I doubt that it will be
as bad as Core Wars, but I do think that Dante used something similar to the Gnu
coding in his construct. Its time to break out the heavy equipment chummers.

Get back to me as soon as possible. And yes CB - I did tweak my deck a little
more since the Dante run. I hope to finish my BIG project after Christmas.

Just had a moment idea. Decided to pass it along. Easy discovered in
her digging for Kor that a hard-hitting mercenary squad, known simply
as "Legion" is passing through Philly, how long they will be in Philly
is unclear as is their intent. They do seem to be interested in the
"fixer war."

>>>>>[Legwork paid off.

The view from Easy's camera, as she moves along a dark and trash-
littered alley. The mike didn't pick up any sound, but she must have: as
she passes one doorway, the camera blurs and settles amidst a startled
yelp on the face of a frightened Ork, off balance and held by the
throat: Easy's chromed razors glitter at his throat, and one of her
Beretta 92 automatics is in his face.

"Cool! Cool! I got no problem, man! I'm just - oh." Surprise replaces
fear, then gives way to cautious indignation, "Hey, man, it's you I'm
here to see, 'kay?"

Easy pulls him back upright without apparent effort, still using only
one hand: she doesn't holster the pistol, though she refrains from
aiming it at him.

"Glad you made it. So, you got something for me?"

"That depends on what you got for me, lady, finding this stuff out isn't
easy and it ain't cheap neither."

The Elf produces a credstick, holds it up, hands it to him wordlessly.
The Ork checks the balance on it, looks relieved.

"Okay. I don't know it all. But I heard the Legion blew into town
looking to see who wanted to hire what."

"The Legion?" Easy settles into the doorway, lights a cigarette.

"Mercs. Real heavy hitters, I hear. Muchos hardos manos. Like, these
guys, they are serious stone killers, they're-"

"I get the picture. What else?"

"Well, maybe they're just passing through. They work this area, you
know? Or maybe they heard there was someone hiring. Like, Kor and Quake
blowing each other away, and the fixer war, and maybe they figure where
there's war there's cred for a hard-core seek-and-destroy mob like the
Legion."

Easy pauses. "Okay. Stay in touch. I want everything you can get on
these guys. Names, faces, methods, records. I'll pay for that. You get
me?"

"Yeah, I get you."

"Find me that info. Don't get dead. And you'll get richer." Easy
holsters the pistol, walks away towards the streetlit end of the alley.
+++++end trideo

This Legion crew sound like bad news. Maybe we should consider buying
them off. Or maybe we should bring in some help of our own, just in
case. I assume folding our tents and leaving isn't an option until we
get a better fix on Colleen?]<<<<<

>>>>>[The Legion don't like questions.

I just got a call to pick up my informant. In a sealed bag. Very dead
indeed, and he didn't enjoy the process at all.

I also found a message, which I quote:

"The Legion is not getting involved in this petty fight of territory.
If you drag us in, we will pay you back for the trouble."

No sign that they're moving on us. Maybe it's a coincidence that they're
here? After all, mercs shooting up Philly would draw down heat very
fast. Bad for all concerned.

They only seem to be keeping questioners at bay, from what I can hear:
snuff the snoops and warn their bosses. They could have sniped me when I
found Whopper's corpse, for instance, but they just left the bodybag and
the note, told me which dumpster, and left it at that.

According to a couple of friends with connections, the Legion are
dangerous. They've got a good rep for work Europe and the Americas, and
they don't ever let anyone cross them and live that talked about
afterwards (and a couple who tried got made very public, painful and
messy examples of).

Tough guys, and not my scene. I say we act polite. They stay out of our
way, we stay out of theirs. Might even pay to negotiate something to
that effect, it would cut down on misunderstandings.]<<<<<

Some serious analysis needed here, people. We almost had him, then we
lost him. Something is _very_ wrong. We have a leak and I want it
plugged, preferably with the hide of the person responsible.

+++++begin trideo
Downtown Miami. The view is obviously someone's eyecam, probably
Lynch's. It's sometime in the afternoon, and the shot is filled with a
medium sized apartment building, which Jason is moving to as fast as
possible without looking obvious

Jason sprints up the stairs, and slows at the fourth floor. Quickly, he
moves down the hallway, checking the numbers on the doors. He jogs down
the hall, stopping at 421, and he has his Python drawn as he knocks at
the door.

"Mr Fortier? This is Jason Lynch. I'm here to help you."

A voice responds from inside the door. "Lynch? I know the name. But
how do I know it's you?"

"After I shoot you through the door, you can identify the bullets. I
know who you are, where you are, and I'm talking instead of killing you.
Open the damn door, Brian."

You here a rustle at the doorway. "It's unlocked, but come in slowly."

The door opens slowly, and a short, rather pudgy man stands on the other
side. He shakily holds a cheap double-barreled shotgun in Lynch's
direction, but lowers it as he seems to recognize the man at the door.

"Oh, I'm glad that they were able to get ahold of you, Mr. Lynch. I
wasn't sure if anyone would believe me. I haven't been able to get any
sleep at all since I ran. That Haze guy, the killer, all those awful
things he did. Those poor girls! The children he killed! If it wasn't
for my Hippocratic oath I'd have had him die on the table while I was
operating. I heard all about it, I keep up with the Seattle news, you
see I was stationed at McChord for a while, I actually really like the
city..."

The man continues to ramble as Lynch takes stock of the room. It's a
small, sparsely furnished corner room, and Lynch notices that the
windows are uncovered, exposed to the other buildings in the street.

Lynch interrupts the man and walks to the windows "Stay here, out of the
way." He starts to close the blinds, keeping clear of the window, but
Fortier follows after him.

"Oh, I know, I tried to keep them closed, but I've been locked up in
here for days and it was getting musty and I thought that if I..." Lynch
turns to push Fortier back into the corner and out of the way.

Too late.

Fortier's head explodes sideways, and his body slumps to the floor.

Lynch rolls out of the way, landing flat on the floor: Lilith, in the
door, has a Desert Eagle covering both sides of the hall. Nothing moves
for a long moment, apart from Fortier's last breath wheezing slowly out
of slack lungs.

Raising his thumb, Lynch uses the camera in it to look through the
starred window that the shot came through. Peeking out slightly, he
sees nothing of significance. Lynch looks back at the body, the tiny
round entrance hole and the cavernous exit, blood-flecked brain tissue
splattering the cheap furniture.

"Fuck." is all he says.
+++++end video

Miami PD are investigating. Not that Rezar asshole, thank God,
Goodwright grabbed the case, so we can expect some decent help.

We should get ballistics on the bullet. No clue where the sniper shot
from yet, though. Silenced assault rifle firing subsonic ammo, from the
hole in the glass and the entry wound. Good shot, range was at least
one-fifty.

Doesn't narrow it down much yet. At least the sniper didn't decide to
ventilate _my_ cranium first: praise the Goddess for small mercies.

That isn't coincidence, that's a leak. Find it. Fix it.]<<<<<

I can't believe that the leak is internal. It's possible someone has
our comms tapped -- I'll get on that. There are a few other things I want to
take a look at.

+++++ EYES ONLY: D J H Coppinger

How much leeway do we have looking for this leak? I want to look at some
folks outside of SIGA, but who are peripherally involved in our chain up
to Oversight. I trust everyone in SIGA too much to believe it's internal,
but I'm still going to look hard -- I just want approval to go outside a
little. Heck, better still: Don't give me approval, don't respond at all.
I just want to keep you unofficially notified of what I'm doing -- if I
get caught with my hands in the cookie jar it's my problem. I'm going to
find the bastard. ]<<<<<

Bear that in mind.
