Good afternoon, this is Charlie Fingers and I'm in the courtroom where
today the Prosecution presented a long line of experts and evidence
regarding Patrick O'Kennedy's alleged interactions with the Yakuza,
Mafia, Tongs, and some of the most despised street and go gangs of
Seattle. The evidence included video and audio recordings, electronic
documents from Mr. O'Kennedy to various criminals, and eyewitness
accounts.
The Defense, however, successfully countered much of the evidence with
appeals to logic. The Defense was able to totally demolish the
Prosecutions allegations of wrongdoing regarding Seattle gangs by
pointing out, in detail, just what Mr O'Kennedy does and what Haven is
for; educating gangers and street kids and giving them hope. The defense
claimed that it is only natural for Mr. O'Kennedy to come into contact
with gangers, since that was his self-appointed job.
Judging by the response of the jury, many of them understood this
reasoning and probably agreed with it, at least in regard to the gangs.
To date, however, the most damning evidence has been Mr. O'Kennedy's
dealings with the underworld of Seattle. Not organized crime, but rather
the individual criminals and parasites that feed off the corporations and
private citizens, the so-called street samurai, freelance decker,
smugglers, and magicians-for-hire. Various Lone Star, Knight-Errant, and
Interpol police have identified over 15 different individuals who fall
within this category and who Mr. O'Kennedy apparently had dealings with
over the years.
Tomorrow the final thrust of the Prosecution's case begins, with the
calling of Commander Paul Drake, head of Interpol's Special Branch, to
the stand as a witness.
