The border crossing was pretty smooth, we were able to cross near the
Falcon Reservoir into Guerrero without incident. Renting transportation
proved to be challenging, but we have now secured a vehicle that should
enable us to cover country without too much trouble, it is of sufficient
size to enable us to transport some equipment as well as ourselves.

Civil unrest has precluded any decisions to carry out research within
Tenochtitlan, so we have re-routed to Tampico instead, and will be
overnighting there. Tomorrow, we will be travelling to Veracruz, it is
here that we will begin our research and exploration, we have come
across a rumour of a recent find in the foothills of Citlaltapec. One
of the screamsheets here was raving about some major discovery in the
location, so we are going to have a quick look and see if anything
relevant can be found. Also some rumour of two new temples in the
jungles of Campeche may be worth investigating. The fighting in the
Yucutan has temporarily subsided, so we should be able to gain access to
the areas in question.

I have Gates running a recon into the Tenochtitlan matrix to see if he
can access the archeological information contained within the Avenida
Insurgentes data stores. He says it's pretty much a public access
thing, so we may be able to pick up a clue from there without attracting
undue attention.

I have managed to re-establish a couple of contacts down here, and by
current conditions, should be able to continue to do so, as we travel
south. It may be unnecessary for you to risk yourself by supplying us
with anything, though I will hold your offer of assistance in Belem.

One thing that is a little bothersome, is the fact that Blood Magic is
becoming more prevelant. Sacrifices are televised on a couple of
channels, and rumours abound of ritual killings to the gods and the
spirits in the name of power are becoming more commonplace in outlying
areas as well. Another thing you may wish to note is that there are
several new pyramids planned for construction down here. I believe,
from this evidence, that Aztechnology is increasing it's powerbase, and
may have a greater hold over the government than previously suspected.
thankfully most of the activities are limited to the major areas of
habitation. These are being avoided at this time. I have no wish to
become another missing gringo in the city.

There is rumour of some serious military manoeuvers down near
Villahermosa, so I think we can expect the fighting to resume within the
month. Also terrorist and rebel activity has increased in the southern
areas of Aztlan around the Oaxaca region. Not sure what's happening
there, but if it's important to you, I'll ask around and see what we can
dig up.

I should have more for you by the time we reach Veracruz.]<<<<<
