>>>>>[You are correct in a number of things Skuff. Yes it is a fact
that there are limited facilities for SIN application, yes it is a long
drawn out process, with a multitude of forms to fill out. And yes,
buses do cost money, something that I agree some people have in little
amount above the breadline. This is all an unfortunate occurence, and
something the government is eager to change, you can interpret that
however you wish. As for seeing the forms, yes I have, it is sometimes
the duty of the FBI to deal with immigration procedures of those who
would wish entry, by shall we say, less obvious means. I have
personally spent six months working such a camp, and became sick of he
sight of the forms, but they are, at this time necessary. Once
everything has ironed out into a more stable condition, then things will
obviously change for the better. I will not pretend that this will be a
slow process. Legislation and change always is, and it depends
immensely on the interests of the ruling party, as to what gets done and
how, and when.

The forms are unfortunately full of legalise, and this is primarily
because the government must have some way it can protect itself.
LEgalise is the most efficient way to produce that protection, however,
free advice is available, as is assistance in filling out the forms,
though of course, it means it will take longer. An unfortunate
situation that is slowly resolving itself.

Just between you, myself and the gatepost. The figures on crime
statistics are accurate. They may have been milked to produce a
required result, and only 60% of crimes are reported anyway, however,
that's what we are officially told to keep to hand for public reference,
it helps the average Joe in the street if he/she believes that law
enforcement is still a viable counter to crime. You and I both know the
realities of this situation, and that the battle is slowly being lost.
We have to follow a strict procedure, the bad guy doesn't. We _must_
produce hard evidence for DOJ to take to court, the bad guy only has to
prove shadow of doubt. Comments like the ones you made do not help the
situation. Please, don't make remarks like that in public. It doesn't
help when people point out the failings of Lone Star in this department.
They also are fighting a battle with poor divisional strength, against
closed neighbourhoods, where nobody sees anything. The majority of
officer violence stems from that frustration. It is unacceptable and
stopped in cases where it is possible, but as you know it still happens.
This is part of the reason the FBI is stepping up it'spresence in
Seattle, to cut down on this and other types of crime. As I said
before, if you or anyone else has a valid grievance, there are channels
whereby you can register that complaint anonymously, and provided time
date and some other reference is employed, it will be investigated.

This world is not a perfect place, and I doubt it ever will be, but some
of us here are trying damned hard to make it better for the average
person to live in.]<<<<<
