D: Death
F: Famine
J: Jester
P: Pestilence
W: War

D: Status?

J: It seems our one target and their friends have been trying to ransom
a person. The person they are trying to ransom it to, the same one as
Croaker's employer, has offered up an equal amount to what they were
asking for someone else to handle it.

Rumour also has it that the employer has canceled Croaker's contract
due to the fact that he failed.

D: How does the new offer compare to the old contract?

J: It's actually better than the contract was. I have passed around
what data I have been able to find. War has provided me with some
additional leads that I am still following up on.

D: Good. Pestilence?

P: Someone took exception to my poking around the area of the ambush.
Based on Jester's information, I have serious doubts it was the team
we've already identified. Thanks to Famine, we repelled the attack and
have initiated procedures which should provide us with some ground
level information on our assailants.

D: Famine?

F: When I'm not acting as bodyguard for Pestilence, I am making more
toys. We are still weak in overwatch capabilities, and I'm slowly
working on correcting that deficiency. All in all, I'm right about
where I thought I would be when we entered the area.

D: War?

W: I'm in surveillance mode on our first targets. I, with aid of some
old friends have almost completely driven down all the details we will
need to make the hit. Four or five in the morning looks like it will
be the best time to hit. They are very paranoid with the contract
being offered on them and tempers are fraying. However, they still
seem to be mostly late night people. Hit them after they normally go
to sleep, and it should be a cakewalk.

D: Once Jester has completed his information searches, we will plan the
hit for the next morning then. I have actually managed to contact
Whirlwind and inform him of our intentions. He is still working on
providing us the appropiate tapes. I'm starting to think that at this
point, it is a mere formality.

With that said, I think we need Whirlwind to appear more valuable to
Croaker. War, since you have the most connections in this area, I want
you to very indirectly initiate a hit on their safehouse. It should
panic them. I must stress that you cannot afford to be traced in this
matter.

W: How successful do you want them to be?

D: I would try to avoid having Croaker's numbers being depleted
further, but it should put a healthy fear into them plus the
realization of the value that Whirlwind adds to their team. If you do
it right, Whirlwind should be in prime position to influence Croaker's
decisions.

Jester, make sure you clean up after yourself so that others do not
have an easy time following what you look at. I don't think we should
hand Croaker the rewards of our own labours.

J: Check.

D: Meanwhile, I'm going to continue to dig to see what our friends, the
Legion, are truly up to in this region.

P: Wise decision.

J: I thought you were going to use Croaker as bargaining with them?

D: No, that is not my intention. While it could be used as a
bargaining chip, I think there are better ways to get what we might
need from the Legion than compromising Croaker's position in the
matter.

J: The attack will have the opposite effect ...

D: There is always that possibility of that. Just are being in the
area makes the situation harder on Croaker. However, the attack is to
aid Whirlwind's position with Croaker so that if we need information
from them, we at least have a prayer of getting it from Whirlwind.

F: What makes you think that Whirlwind will try to help us?

W: If Whirlwind's orders are to convert them or else, then he probably
won't help us. If his orders are to resolve this matter as quickly as
possible, then he will try to share information. Time will tell us
what it is truly going to be. ]<<<<<
