>>>>>[I've got an associate who might be interested in your offer.

Actually used to do security work, before, shall we say an attack of
conscience left him out of work (blacklisted, but that wasn't anywhere
around here). So, he turned "independent" for a while doing physical
security and systems (not a rigger, though). No outstanding warrants, but
I won't kid you on that front. He's about as clean as they come in this
business, but that also has to do with the fact that he's never been
caught. Unexpectedly got himself mixed up in a mess with some organized
criminals, one of whom turned out to be a friend on the other side, and
found himself attracting the wrong kind of attention, so he relocated
rather than give himself and his friends a lot of grief.

I have reason to believe that your matrix talent is good enough to
eventually poke holes in his SIN. It was just that, at the time, he
couldn't exactly obtain a green-card when he showed up in the UCAS, nor
desired the paper trail that that would cause.

Any of these seem to be insurmountable problems in your company's
eyes?]<<<<<

>>>>>[So what's the info on this Serenity Security offer? My to-good-to-
be-true-ometer has started buzzing.

Sure there's a number of people on this board who worked corp security at
some time in their shady pasts, which may make it a good excuse to
head-hunt other places toss-outs, especially after MamaCorp has already
gone and wired them up or taught them to chuck mana. But, it seems a
little strange for a legit corp to be wanting to hire we "disreputable
types." I read their info file. *YAWN* The kind of thing they'd toss at
a suit wanting to invest. What's the real history on these guys? And why
would they be wanting to hire around here when they could use be using a
Johnson to muster "deniable assets?"]<<<<<

>>>>>[ Serenity are good folks. The reason why they hire on SLand (and
have in the past .. read the logs) is because _all_ of the upper echelon
of the corp have worked the Shadows. Most of them extensively.

They are willing to bend the rules to help people who want to get out of
the Shadows as long as the traces aren't _too_ obvious. They take care of
their own ferociously.

I know it sounds a bit too good to be true, but I know a few of those
upper echelon folks and it's chip-truth. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[The only thing we really ask is that he survive a level 1 check from
InterPol.
They arent as thourough as you might think on such a check. If we can legal
turn
and say "Look, he checked out, and here is the chip-work from InterFUCKINGPol
that shows we checked this drekhead out. How were we supposed to know he
rapes puppies on his spare time?" everything is casual with us.

Interpol checks to make sure the applicant has no outstanding warrants, hasnt
been
implicated in anything socially unacceptable, and that the ap has nothing that
would
make him unfit to wield really big guns (or MilSpec Decks / code).

We ask simply: Do not shit where you live. Which pretty much says means -
"We are
paying you to be available when we have work. Consider this retainer money.
If
we need you we expect you to be there. If you get your ass in trouble, we
will
be there to kill the bad guys for you and ask questions later."

If you nose around, you'll find a) there are a lot more of us than it seems b)
we
take care of our own.

So, what does your friend do?]<<<<<

>>>>>[I'll pass along your comments sans the puppy comment. He tends to
be rather serious when on the job, so I'd rather he not take offense or
think your company is full of nut-balls who enjoy getting their kicks with
small furry things.

Yeah, I think it should survive a cursory check. He'd paid enough for the
I.D. and it was enough to get him a provisional Private Investigator's
license so he could do legit PI, bounty-hunter type work here in Seattle.
When neither of those were bringing in anything, he did some shadowork.

I think I mentioned he worked physical security (bodyguarding and
intrusion/counter-intrusion), and knows his way about security systems and
electronics, but not rigged systems. So yes, it would tend to be guns,
but even though he's a pretty big guy, he doesn't like people to
underestimate him and treat him like brute muscle. Oh, he also is pretty
good around motorbikes, guess he was a bit of a delinquent youth at some
point, but I currently forget if you guys do any patrols and stuff like
that. As for being on "retainer" I guess I mistakenly had the impression
that this was more permanent and steady of a thing, or is some of each,
"consultants" as well as full-time employees.

I'm pretty sure he'll be in touch with you after he gets back from his
current job.]<<<<<

Running
myself a little ragged.

We do a little of both. I've just found that most Ex-Runners tend to want to
keep
their freedom and do not fit well with "full-time" positions. Since we'd
rather have
the talent than not, we allow them (Us) as much flexibility as we can.

Have your friend drop the office when he has the time. Might be able to get
the
preliminaries out of the way faster]<<<<<
