In local news today, Serenity Security, who was in the news recently with
the attack against their headquarters here in Seattle has announced the
purchase of CFS based SpecWar, Inc. SpecWar is a bonded Mercenary unit
that specializes in Special Warfare and Counter-Terrorism operations.
Several local security providers have expressed a concern over this
recent acquisition, fearing that Serenity is attempting to build a private
army rather than simply providing security services.

Zachary Turner, the Public Relations Spokesperson for Serenity had this to
say, "We are simply try to gather the resources necessary to provide a
better overall security package to our customers. No one accuses Lone Star
or Knight Errant of building a private army with their FRT units, they
are simply covering all of the bases. We feel that the acquisition of
SpecWar will allow us to respond to nearly any type of incident that may
arise with our clients, and thereby offer better service. Thank you."

Sources close to the situation indicate that Serenity was in the process
of building it's own fast, high-threat response unit, but has scrapped the
project with the acquision of SpecWar, and intends to use the resources
gained in the purchase instead of creating the unit from scratch.

For those of you who don't know, SpecWar is the corporation that Tangent's
mercenary outfit operates under. Things are getting very interesting. I
don't think _I'd_ want to be involved in the next attack against Serenity..
It looks like they are beefing up a /lot/. ]<<<<<

certain
major Serenity stock-holders was a secret. I didn't tell them anything that
could hurt you. If I had tried, NB woulda flatlined me before I finished
composing the message, you know that. Jeez. Touchy, touchy. ]<<<<<

problems with exposure, but you may have difficulties. We consider our
arrangement still on despite this, until you say otherwise.

This Flux has large mouth. He is lucky not to have State Security speak
to him about his publications. But then, freedom is why I come to UCAS
anyway... he is lucky never to learn difference between 'free' and 'not
free'.]<<<<<

like to
have access to your resources as well as being able to augment you with our
SpecOps teams. You guys can kill people and break things on a larger scale
than we can, and we can be more selective than say, a mortar round. <chuckle>

As far as Flux is concerned, yes, he does tend to have a big mouth, but he's
very useful when the situation demands as Lynch could testify to. Besides,
I'm inclined to cut him slack since we've saved each other numerous times in
the past.. ]<<<<<

about his friend Flux, and this is clearer now. I am still not fully
familiar with matrix or magic: these were not common back home. This is
why Lynch is so much use to me, because he is from capitalist chaotic
West and can translate its strange ways for ignorant Russian like
me.]<<<<<
