I already passed this on to the South American desk, and to Jedburgh at
CIA since we don't have anyone close. Figured you might be interested
because of Stephanie, in case you maybe wanted to warn her out of that
area or anything.

The locals are wheeling a mech inf brigade into that area, the analysts
say the 17th, and they look to be in full combat readiness.
Whatever that complex was (we've got no real data, it was kind of a well
kept secret) it's fairly obviously compromised locally at least, and
something nasty either attacked it or came out of it. They look to be
sealing it off.
The only partial decrypts we've got suggest the first rescue team, from
the 31st, were wiped out in pursuit of... whatever it was that either
trashed the place or escaped from it. They spent a lot of time in the
field, didn't change encryption, and we got some partials from that. The
last one's nasty, you'll hear it.
Now the 17th are on a new code key, and right now we can't persuade NSA
to try to crack it until something bigger happens, and we won't know
it's happened unless we're listening to their comms... you know the
drill. We're at least getting overheads and traffic analysis.
Sounds like somewhere to keep a daughter away from, at least. Though
knowing Stephanie, she'd probably want to go there.]<<<<<

Thanks, Jake. We'll pass it on, discreetly. Shouldn't be a problem, from
what we hear so far, but more data never hurts.]<<<<<
