ANTI-MAGIC CAMPAIGNER MURDERED
Jeffrey Frizman, publicity officer for Self-Protection Against Magic,
was killed tonight in his Snohomish home by a combat spell that "burst
every blood vessel in his brain", according to a Lone Star source.
Frizman answered a caller at his door and collapsed as the magical power
blasted and tore his body, the door's safety chain still fastened as he
was agonisingly struck down by eldritch energies.

SPAM reacted with shock to the murder. "It shows the danger that the
Awakened pose to our society.", said vice-chairman Amelia Secia. "Magic
rends and tears at our world, its practicioners wield enormous powers,
and ordinary citizens are all but helpless against it. This cannot be
allowed to continue. The honestly magical have nothing to fear from
registration and licencing. But some magicians feel safe as they roam,
killing anyone who opposes them, seeing the rest of the world as prey
for their abilities. We of SPAM support and endorse a citizen's right to
react with deadly force to any use of magical energies. Had Mr Frizman
done so, he might be alive today."
