>>>>>[ It's days like this that really make me wonder why I don't
just take my money and run. <giggle> Now that's a good pun! Ah well,
let's get down to business...

The street, if that's what it could be called, is dusty, the air
slightly hazy and cool. A readout shows a pleasant temperature, not
too hot or cold. The view is one of rolling lava flats, long since
cooled. A single building stands in view, the burned-out remains of a
church, with a single spire that reaches over fifteen meters skyward.

The view shifts towards the East, Mt Ranier featuring predominately.
Off in the distance, a black shape begins to resolve itself into a
car. The camera zooms in on a Leyland-Zil Tsarina. An echo from the
right, a car door slamming, but the camera sees nothing out of the
ordinary.

"Hal, it's almost time,"a female voice broadcasts. The camera focuses
on a thin form by the road, about one hundred meters away. Zooming
in, the camera makes out a female form, young, perhaps in her late
teens or early twenties. She is clothes in black leather from head to
toe, although her coat stands open, a tight white t-shirt underneath,
the butt of a large pistol peeking out from under her arm. Her auburn
hair is tied back into a pony tail.

The Tsarina is coming closer, the mike can make out its engine roar
now, struggling as it pulls the car along at top speed.

"Hope he doesn't plow into anything hard," she broadcasts again.
Suddenly she turns slightly to gaze at the old church. The camera
follows the motion, but cannot make out anything.

"Our friend is here," and she receives two clicks in return. She
turns back to the Tsarina. It is much closer now, the driver
obviously in a hurry. She glances around quickly and steps out into
the street, as if to cross.

+++++10 seconds pass

There is a screech of rubber on pavement, resounding through the
pickup. The Tsarina stops, just meters from her, engine idling high.
The horn blows, and she smiles as she moves to the side.

There is a sharp crack and the glass canopy shatters. Two gunshots
quickly follow.

The camera pans down the road and captures a blue SAAB Dynamit
roaring towards the woman from the West. It slows just before the
Tsarina and a single man jumps out. Tall, thin and platinum blonde,
dressed as a mgae, he makes a few gestures as he walks toward the
stricken Tsarina. The body of the driver begins to levitate out of
the car and follows the mage obediently back to the SAAB's trunk. The
mage pushes the body in and closes the trunk before walking bakc over
to the passenger side door. He pauses just before he gets in, turns
to the young woman.

"Need a ride?" he asks in a friendly voice.

She smiles, walks over to the car, scans the area one last time and
climbs into the back. The car door shuts behind the mage and the SAAB
pulls away quickly. There are a few moments of silence before another
engine fires to life from somewhere off camera. The audio pick up
makes out the noise of the car slowly receding into the distance.
Quiet falls over the scene once more...

I'll have to remember to congratulate Tank for those drones. ]<<<<<

Had to use two (three?) shots this time, I'm afraid. It's a little
more difficult when the target isn't sitting still.

By the way, black really is your colour - even more when it's in
leather. I think your hair looks better loose, though.
