Reported crime in Tarislar more than doubled in the last couple of
months. "Oh, no!", cry the politicians. "What could have caused that?"
The
obvious answer is Lieutenant Hart and her Task Force. It's her fault
crime's gone up, so get her out and crime will fall.
Simple, obvious, and wrong.
I mean, you don't need to be a genius to realise that people in Tarislar
were starting to report some of the drek that was happening because
they thought Hart and her crew actually gave a damn... so of course
reports go up, even as people actually start walking around in the evenings
because they think it's safer than it used to be.
Get rid of Hart and go back to the usual dirty crew from Puyallup South,
and soon those Tarislar residents will stop reporting crimes (and going
outdoors after dark) and Lone Star's statistics will look peachy again.
Score one for the Mob - I hear she was putting a real kink in their
operations 'round that way.
Speaking of the Mob, Eric Descabiere continues to claim he's running a fair
slice of Tarislar out as far as Easyville, which is a good thing because it
seems his soom-to-be-ex wife is going to end up with a chunk of his Fort
Lewis operation.
Why does Don Eric have to keep _claiming?_ Because between Hart's cops
and some "unnamed vigilantes", for whom read anything from the butt-
end of the Nobilis Domini to Luigi Bartolo's crew to some other up-and-
comer, he's getting bled white in there. Being Human and hostile in an Elf
'hood does that, I guess... don't you feel sorry for the man?
The mystery is, why Descabiere hasn't pulled back or collapsed. Someone's
propping him up and spending mucho to do it. Which could mean
interesting employment opportunities for the more actively minded folk
round here.
Anyway, that's all I have to say. Place has been kind of dead lately,
though. Anyone still around?]<<<<<
