Subject: What really happened to Leon Meyers

>>>>>[Alright, everyone. I apologize for the delay in getting this
information to all of you, but my sources took a lot longer than I
expected.

Following the initial inquriry by Ramirez, I began to do a little checking as
to the disposition of the case against Leon Meyers.

As near as I can tell, the D.A. has dropped all charges against Meyers
citing "insufficient evidence" and "questionable mental stability" [of
Meyers]. Insufficient evidence I could understand (all of our illegally
gained evidence cannot be admitted), but I researched the claim of
'questionable mental stability' a little bit more.

Meyers is crazy. He's deeply in love with MONICA!!!! He believes she's a
real person and even when presented with evidence showing her to be an
artifical construct, he refused to believe it. He insists that she is in
love with him. He refused to believe that MONICA was incapable of feeling
emotions.

Or can she?

MONICA's recent activites makes me believe that she WAS able to feel
emotion (at least the second time around). Why, you ask? She had a very
systematic plan of _revenge_ against Yoshida Tech and Fuchi. Revenge is
not a logical action, especially if her goal, in accordance to her
original goal, was to become very powerful and take over the net. She
would be better off to do that in silence and not draw attention to herself
by kidnapping and murdering powerful businessmen. Thus, I feel that she
is now indeed endowed with emotions. Perhaps when RUFUS melded with her,
some of his residual emotions were integrated into her.

So, I wonder...

Anyways, as to Meyers, he was released and made the ward of an anonymous
corporation under the Offender Rehabilitation and Partnership Act of 2048.
I have not been able to track down which company took responsiblity for
Meyers (while he was not charged and release, he was declared 'mentally
stressed', which requires a ward to be reponsible for him for 6 months).

So, in any case, it appears that Meyers is out of the picture.]<<<<<

Joe, it's not enough proof for the D.A. to press charges.]<<<<<
