>>>>>[Hey you two, how have things been going? Must be pretty quiet
or pretty official because the shadows haven't said anything about
you.

I was wondering, whatever happened to that skip trace I brought in
for you? I kind of feel sorry for her. Sure she was trying to
profit of the deaths of innocents, but you almost have to admire her
rampant capitlist streak. And her naivete, too. She really couldn't
believe that her contact would leave her high and dry like that.

Listen, I was thinking of dropping in to FDC sometime before
Christmas to do some tourist type things. See that huge Christmas
tree, the public malls all light up with lights, that type of thing.
Do you want to try and hook up? If things work out right, it'll be
my first chance to see something other than the towns rough
underbelly. And all legal too.<g>

I also managed to swing getting some tickets to the Orange Bowl. You
know, football, with players who play because they like the game and
don't have any cyber? Urban Brawl is good, yeah, but it just doesn't
have the immediacy of real gridiron play.

Drop me a line when you've got the chance. Speed slow.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Hey Quinn. Or should I start calling you 'My Lady'? 'My
Liege'? Ah, to hell with it.

Your friend with the para's got back to me. I'll be going through
their training course just after the new year. Guess that'll keep me
busy for a while. Thanks for hooking me up with them. They're a
good bunch of guys.

I plan on being in FDC over the holidays, so why don't you stop by
and we can get together? Or is playing at being part of the
aristocracy taking up all your time now?]<<<<<

>>>>>[Quiet, more than anything else. The shadows have been dead for a
while. Good to hear from you again.

Your skip trace is currently undergoing intensive rehabilitation. For
which read some serious conditioning and reprogramming. She'll probably,
in a few months, rejoin Federal service... though if she goes more than
twenty-four hours without "clocking in" she'll have a two-ounce headache
right through her prefrontal lobe: her soft palate is now a shaped C-16
charge, and she needs to reset the timer every day.

Harsh. But it means we keep a good biotech, she doesn't waste time in
jail, she gets some pretty severe punishment for her crimes and the next
time she steps out of line, she can be dead within a day.

Suits everyone, really, even her.

You want to drop by FDC? You're more than welcome here, saves you
staying in a hotel: big house, plenty of rooms, good security, plenty of
beer in the fridge.

The tourist stuff is overrated, but we live here now so may be biased
<g> Might be fun to double-date round the sights, it's not something we
get time or incentive to do too often.

And the football... YEAH!!! You're on!!!]<<<<<

do :)

And the benefit of being an aristo is that you hire the proletariat to
do the hard work. Glamis is in fair shape, it's Fortrose that's been
hard to restore, but work on both is proceeding nicely. Sometime next
year I should be able to throw a housewarming (castlewarming?) at
Glamis, but Fortrose is taking a lot longer...

Typical Brits. Save the Crown Princess from a fate worse than death and
get a seriously traditional title, along with a fief that's deep in the
Wild Lands (seriously overrated, they're a really nice place to live as
long as you keep a good rifle handy, but it makes getting good builders
difficult) and a castle that makes Gormenghast look livable. Right up on
the Black Isle and smack next to a druid colony. Sigh. Still, cool mana,
those ley lines make life... interesting.

You'll be doing P Company in the New Year? I might keep you company
then, always good to stay qualified. The lads like to see their Wartime
Reserve officers stay on top of the job.

I'm in FDC with Jason and Lilith right now, and planning to hang around
there unless something shows up. Want to come hang around with me? For a
guy you're good company :) ]<<<<<

Anyway, take care, and I'll see you on the 20th.]<<<<<

What do you prefer for transport when you're relaxing a little? Car or
bike? We'll sort you out with whichever, whether we need to rent you one
or lend you one. Let us know, DeeCee taxicabs have a blanket exemption
else they'd all be doing time for extortion and we'd hardly want to
leave you to their untender mercies.]<<<<
