give
you a blocker to run interference - but the info is valuable. Obviously, Los
Coyotes also find the Katana interesting. I'll check the weapon types as soon
as I get them. For my part, I have tracked several Coyotes Underground - I
think that their HQ is down there - where is exactly is another (as yet)
unanswered question. I'm still waiting to hear from the rest of the group about
the Coyotes ties with the BloodSuckers and Underground management. We got to
get a move on quick - I calculate we have approx. 70 hours before things go bad
in the Sprawl.
By the way, Ditto Milhaus's salutations to all you guys (and female mages)
as well as any indeterminate genotypes posting on Shadowland.|<<<<<

Yes, I am a certified trainer and breeder of Hell Hounds. That pups that
you mentioned, are they wild or are they already broken to humans? It will
still not be an easy thing to get them attack trained but if you have
some available I am interested...sigh...I lost some of my best in that

You also mentioned that you wanted someone to "hide" something the size of
a small hanger. I can do that but you arent likely to like my bill for the

>>>>>[I gotta be out of the office today, so I'm just leaving this
where you can find it. Sorry about having to put you up in Spark's
office, but he never uses it and it was all I could find on short
notice.

It all depends on who asks for your passes, and under what
circumstances. If the SFPD stops you alone, they might get kind of
annoying. They've got teeth, but won't use them without confirmed
orders from above, in triplicate. They'll usually back down with an
implied threat, if it comes to that. They won't stop a group that
looks even marginally threatening. The Marines area totally
different story. They'll stop you if you look at them wrong. If you
don't have the proper documentation, you'll be before a Japanese
magistrate before you can find a Japanese translator, and you'll be
standing on the pier in Oakland by the time you do. Null sweat,
we'll just send somebody over to pick you up before the squatters
pick you over too badly.

If yer in one of our trucks, the SFPD will avoid you like VITAS.
We've been showing them up lately. By the time they've responded to
one of our calls to pick up somebody, we've got the trussed up on the
curb next to the garbage. Hell, we've even started responding to
their calls. We're a licensed security outfit and under CFS law we're
obligated to respond to ANY emergency call under threat of losing our
license. Sometimes that's a pain in the hoop, but its fun to rub in
the real cops faces. Especially when we pull off something big.

The I-Marines are a little different. They may or may not pester
you if your in one of the 'Rovers, depending on their mood. Sometimes
they can be upredicatable.

But waitaminnit, I doubt they'll screw with you if you've got your
hounds along. The fraggin' Nips have always been scared of dogs,
dunno why...

One question, how in the hell did you end up at Joey's? No wonder
you saw a lot of our people, that's one of the worst parts of the
East bay. And how did you get on the East side anyway? But anyway,
that's where we get the most business, mostly personal protection and
the odd commercial site. Up North we've got some really elaborate
residential contracts. Now that you're downtown the only FryppSec
people yer likely to see will be at the offices. There's not many of
us, but you could say we stick out.

Lessee, people are going to be down in a few days to check out the
site up north, so I guess we'll have to find you something to
do in the meantime....

We've got a client over in Berkley who says he's having trouble with
a bunch of Japs who've been trying to terrorize him. A bunch of
kids who think that their daddies' postitions can protect them off
corporate property. Maybe they could downtown, but not on the East
side. Do you think you could maybe run the hounds past them a couple
of times, just for something to do until I can find something
substantial? Maybe you might want to drive around town to
familiarize yourself with the streets, they're usually pretty screwy
to someone who's never driven them before. The autopilot can help
you some.

You may use whatever force is necessary to protect yourself, your
hounds, the client and the client's property. And as much of it as
possible would be appreciated.

You can check out one of the 'Rovers from Kabuki Man. If you want we
can start outfitting one of them with cages for the hounds.

Whenever you get back somebody can get you through supply and get you
uniforms and a regulation sidearm then send you up to the range for
some practice, the T-Bolt takes a little getting used to.

Glad to have you aboard.

BTW, do you know Dark Angel? I need some help finding a stripper for
his bachelor party. As a full employee of FryppSec you are hereby
qualified to join us on our nightly roamings to various establishments
catering to the sundry needs of the flesh of San Fran, Oakland and
all points beyond in search of the perfect female.]<<<<<

Friday I have to go down to see Frypp Sec's new simulator and make sure
that everything is actually operational before we open it up. Not too
long after that, I have to start training his people in on its use.

I dont know what type of deal we cut with them but that was the fastest a
site has EVERY gone up. 3 months from the cutting of the paper work to
having it up and operational. I hear the builders got something like
time and a half from start to finish with bonuses for completion before
deadline.

If Jason has anything to do with it I can believe it. Did I ever tell you
about some of the 'incentives' he gave us when we started working on this
project? Baby, let me tell you. We complained about spending long hours
working and not having anything good in the vending machines so he removed
all of the nuke-it burgers and drek and replaced them all with coupons for
random resturants. There was the Gracie's special, the pizza shack special
and a ton of other things. All we had to do was call them up and they would
send over food. He said he went to all the local eating places and
asked the managers / owners if he could open a corporate account with them
whoever said yes, he went with. I miss the old days of working here. Back
when everything was really simple. We came in for days at a stretch and
played around. I couldnt even call it work. Hell, for the longest time we
had a half-tube for skate boarding in the back of what is now the
production office. We kept chasing off the construction crew every time
they came in to take it away.

Hey, I got an idea! Dinner, Thursday night -- at my mom's place. Im taking

some corp put together. It's a compilation of data accumulated on
lots of shadowfolks, including Fred's dossier from the I-Marines. I
heard a copy was available in one of the other Shadowland nodes.

I managed to find it the other day, but all hell broke loose. I
called up Freddy's file and at least three screamers cut loose. I
couldn't get 'em all, hell, they were so fast I only got one. And
that one was aimed for an address in the Tir. I don't even wanna

One of the screamers musta called in some mondo cav. I got hit by

Unfortunately, as you know, I can't actually go into the astral. That is
one of the many side effects of the way I focus my ki. I can, however
serve as backup protecting the bodies of those who are astral from any
attacks from the astral plane. Unless of course you happen to be on good
terms with another free spirit, or the...rat is capable of more than it

>>>>>[I have a job for you, perhaps it could be seen as something of a
test of your usefulness to me, but I assure you, that is not the primary
intention.

MoonHawk Aeroservices, a small corporation based in Tir Tairngire, has
recently expressed some interest in joint operations and a possible merger
with a Saedder-Krupp subsidiary, the resulting corporation to provide
air-based transport services between Seattle and Portland and points south
within the Tir. From the merger, our subsidiary would gain access to the
almost closed markets of Tir Tairngire. After several weeks of negotiation,
a reasonable agreement has been hammered out, one with which both corps are
satisfied. The merger will go ahead, but before they sign the contracts,
MoonHawk wishes to obtain a survey of public opinion in the Tir on the idea
of a merger with a UCAS based corporation. This survey is to be conducted
by an independant institute based in Portland, DeVor Data Services. Your
group is first to gain copies of, and then, if necessary, adjust, the data
DeVor gathers. This merger must proceed without the delay that an
unfavourable survey would cause.

Since Toryama's disappearance and WhiteTyger's vacation, I believe your
team now includes Ice, Thirstein, Squatter, his Rat, and Ronin. Between the
five of you you should be able to manage this manipulation. I can provide
travel documentation to get you in to the country, for which I need
everything a SIN details within the next three days. I will arrange for
such information to be gathered on 07-23, at your warehouse.

Once you have crossed the border, you must report your presence to Dr.
Desmond Celius, marketing executive at the Portland HQ of Dominion
Enterprises, a corporation which is under the control of Saedder-Krupp. It
is not necessary for you to know the exact means by which this control is
exerted. Dr. Celius will provide all the information you will need to make
the run on DeVor.

For reasons of operational security, you cannot use the ID's provided once
you have begun the operation proper. The raid on DeVor will require total
security, if there is suspicion that the survey has been tampered with,
then the merger will almost certainly not go through. The exact method of
the attack is completely up to you, you know your capabilities much better
than I do.

In order to leave the Tir after the run, you can, if you so choose, return
to Dominion's HQ, and they will arrange your exit from the Tir. If you
prefer to leave the country by other means, due to paranoia or other
reasons, that is perfectly acceptable.

The down-payment for attempting the run is >>small amount<<, success
without anyone the wiser will earn you >>large sum<<.]<<<<<

gaps in security. And last night, my fraggin' boss decided to keep us all

>>>>>[This footage came from my drone's camera. It's incomplete, not only
did ECM cut it off halfway, but the security rigger blew the hell out of it
while WhiteTyger was making his getaway, but it's better than nothing.

+++++Begin footage

The drone is parked on a ledge at the top of an apartment building, about
twenty stories up. The night is overcast, threatening snow later, but for
now the weather is relatively benevolent.

As the footage begins, the drone moves slowly forward, free-falling towards
the street. At about five stories, it pulls out of the dive and declerates
gradually, reaching a height of about two metres, just above a parked van.
Eerily silent, it hovers, facing the property opposite the apartment
building, four floors of squat grey office block. A three metre fence
topped with razor-wire seperates the property from the street, beyond it is
a small grass verge and a parking lot. Three cars are present, cheap, and
in one case battered, though there is room for perhaps twenty or more. No
security guards are visible, but five of the ground level windows have
lights on behind them. They are frosted glass, so nothing is visible other
than the occasional vague silhouette. The drone waits about five minutes, a
light rain starting after about two of those minutes, during which time
only two vehicles pass, both driving quickly.

Then the lights in the office block all go out simultaneously. At the same
time there is a distant _crump_ sound, and an explosion flares out from
behind the office building.

The driver's side door of the van opens, and the drone's overlayed
thermographic imagery shows something that fails to register on visual. A
man-shaped heat signature exits the vehicle, and the drone follows the
shape at a distance of about two metres as it runs across the street.
Reaching the other side, it clears the fence with a single, amazing, bound,
lands on its feet, and sprints towards the office block. Just before
reaching the wall, the figure leaps again, landing on a ledge by a window
on the second floor. The drone follows, stopping a metre back from the
figure, who now seems to be talking to thin air. A fire spirit manifests,
briefly overwhelming the drone's flare compensation, and by the time the
view has returned to normal the construction plastic window has had a hole
melted through the middle. The edges show on thermo as _very_ hot, and the
invisible figure takes excessive care not to touch them as it climbs
through the hole.

The drone follows the figure, which moves at bewildering speed through the
building, kicking down doors when they get in its way as it makes its way
to a flight of stairs and up them, passing two landings. Dull emergency
lights show some of the details, but the confidence with which the
invisible figure moves probably indicates some sort of vision enhancement.
Reaching the fourth floor, the figure slows down, moving cautiously through
the door. The drone follows, staying at all times about a metre away and a
metre above the figure. Voices can be heard from ahead, three or more of
them.

"Fraggin' cheap bastards," shouts one male voice, "Turner, where
are..."

"Here," a second replies.

The invisible figure eases forward, leaning against the wall, then slips
around a doorway in the wall against which it was leaning. The drone moves
sideways, getting a look inside the room. Three men are visible inside,
gathered around a table. They appear to have been on a coffee break, but
now they are waiting nervously for word from the handheld radio one of them
is whispering into. The thermographic blur draws something from its back
and with a "snap-hiss," causes it to extend to a staff about its height,
then attacks the guards. It moves with the sort of speed seen only in the
highly wired, striking each of the guards once with the staff. At each
touch, there is the crackle of a stun baton-style electronic discharge, and
each victim falls without a sound beyond a brief squawk. The invisible
figure moves on.

The figure passes through a door to enter a small room occupied almost
completely by computer gear. A stack of memory modules stands against one
wall, and a small terminal occupies the rest of the space. The figure pulls
back the wheeled chair at the terminal and reaches under it, pulling a
power plug from the wall. It removes a boxy object, about 20 by 10 by 5
centimetres, from its backpack, and plugs the power cable into it, then
brings back the chair and sits down. After a moment, it removes a second,
smaller, object from the backpack, this one gets plugged into the datajack
socket on the terminal. While the terminal powers up, the figure extends an
aerial from the second device, and flicks a switch on it. Lights flash on
the unit and things begin to happen on the terminal's VDU. Access codes
flash on and off, security warnings appear, text scrolls at high speed.
Eventually the words "Okay, I've finished, slot and run as they say" appear
on the screen, and the invisible figure makes a satisfied noise before
unplugging the two devices and leaving the room.

Once again, the figure takes off at a sprint, and the drone accelerates to
keep up. It reaches the stairs, and is halfway down the first flight when
the lights go back up to normal and an alarm starts sounding.

"Damn," mutters the invisible figure.

+++++End footage

That's when the ECM went up, and we got no further data back from the
drone. I left Thirstein in astral support, and got back to my body in time
to see a couple of LoneStars down in the parking lot. WhiteTyger gave up on
the stairs, thinking that there'd be trouble waiting down on the ground
floor. So he took off through the third floor, and found a window to jump
out of. He had my drone fire a grenade to break the glass, and that must
have attracted the attention of the CCSS rigger, who popped a minigun
turret out of a nearby wall. WhiteTyger dived through the window while the
minigun cut my drone into shreds. Fragger must have had thermo, that drone
was pretty damn invisible. Anyway, WhiteTyger landed safely (something to
do with his leap spell), then bounced off over the fence while Mr Gone
played Slade the Sniper to cover his retreat. WhiteTyger ran off down a
convenient alley, I sent a spirit in to grab the focus from my drone's
wreckage, and we all got the hell out of there.]<<<<<
