<<<<<[More fun stuff. When I traced my SIN, I came up with some really
disturbing stuff. I may be signing my own death warrant here, but what the
hell. Any deckers out there, et al... here's some stuff to munch on. I can't
say I like Harada... but I think I can understand him. I might be in the
same position. Anyway, here's the stuff.

5/23/49 PRECISION ARTS LOG :MATTHEW STEVENS
:HEAD RESEARCH
:#47
PROJECT: :ALPHA.OMEGA

The project seems to be coming along well, with the expected glitches.
The forced twinning in vitrio occurred better than expected with little or
no damage immdiately apparent. If both embryos are found to be viable,
the chemical changes will be introduced as soon as possible. If both
survive through birth, mechanical testing may also begin. They are
expected to be fully developed within 10 years.

<lots of philisophical stuff deleted about past tests and failures.
Basically, they tried to force it through too fast, and lots of kids died.>

The testing of biological memory allocation may or may not be coming at
all. It is impossible to tell at this stage. The child is brilliant, but
erratic. We simply do not know enough about the brain to have undertaken
a project like this. She experiences fugues, and then overwhelming
memories of her past; a thing we thought we had erased entirely. I
suspect that many of those memories are not truly her own, but synthesised
by her mind. Perhaps it is trying to fill in the blank spots we so
crudely created. Perhaps some more modification may be helpful, though I
would prefer not change the original functionings too much. It is
unfortunate that many from the control group died. Regarding the girl:
she is matures at an alarming rate. Even after being removed from the
vat, she continued to grow at such a pace that she needed to be
hospitalized. The spurt seems to have ceased now, though.

<Lots of stuff deleted, and skipping MANY logs>

3/14/50

Having survived birth, both subjects have undergone various tests. The
controls have been implemented, and modifications came out perfect in one.
The other was born with an extra lobe in his brain. It appears to be
just so much extra flesh. Unfortunate. Had hoped to use him as the
perfect control subject. He will probably die within a few years. Until
then, we can use him for the more radical experiments. They both continue
to mature at a steady pace. The target date of 59 may be able to be
boosted by a few years if all goes well. Testing of all other subjects
has been abandoned except for one. The subject Dawn is doing well, though
her physical growth ceased a year ago. In all, this is probably a good
thing. She has been so heavily modified that any uncontrolled growth
might kill her. The memories have stopped, and she is progressing
mentally faster than expected. Whether this is due to the biological
modifications made early in the experiment or to the hardware we have
since installed is as of yet untested.

The files huge. I have the rest of it, if anyone wants it. Someone asked
me a while ago *what* I am. The question took me by surprise. I decided
to find out.]>>>>>
