>>>>>[ Ha! Silly AI! MONICA only burnt out my protection! She didn't
get
through! I can replace the protection board in about an hour and get back to
the fray! I've done a better analysis of the data from my encounter with
MONICA, and I believe she has limits. Apparently, the whole net is slowing
down due to the propagation of MONICA's control viruses. This means that she
is still hardware dependant, since she has to send out viruses that resemble
smartframes to control other machines rather than actually expanding and taking
them directly in her control. While MONICA is getting exponentially faster,
the network is getting exponentially slower. My calculations say that she'll
get to a point where her speedup exactly equals network slowdown, and she'll
stop getting faster. She may even begin to slow down if she takes enough
control, but according to my figures that won't happen until she has all of
North America! She should reach her limit when she has the whole of seattle,
but then how the hell do we stop her. She's too big as it is. Maybe if
someone over in seattle can directly connect to her physical CPU... I don't
know, it sounds too fragging dangerous! ]<<<<<
