Howe: So?
Man: So! Christ Howe, you've got a power hungry AI taking over
the entire network.
Howe: I'll talk to her.
Man: You had better get this thing under control, or Tirandor's
not going to be very happy.
Howe: Hey, you tell that scaly lizard to get his priorities
straight. If he had given me the manpower I requested from
the start, I would never have put MONICA on the case.
Man: Just fix the situation, or we'll fix it for you . . . and
fix you with it.
Howe: Get out.

Howe: MONICA, what the hell are you trying to prove?
Voice: I am simply following your orders to eliminate RUFUS.
Howe: I didn't tell you to take over the whole grid!
Voice: It is necessary. By securing the entire network, I can
guarantee that I will eventually eliminate RUFUS. I
estimate that I will have complete control of the Seattle
matrix in 48 to 56 hours.
Howe: Can't you be more accurate?
Voice: Several personas on the matrix are proving to be a partial
hinderance on my progress.
Howe: It's got to be Splut and Dark Elf and the rest of
them.
Voice: In order to understand their ways a little better, I have
appropriated one of them into my main memory; one known as
Splut.
Howe: Serves him right for starting this whole mess. Just
remember, once RUFUS is eliminated, you are to back off and
relinquish control of the matrix back to its original
parties.
Voice: You can't honestly expect me to give up the power I am
getting.
Howe: What? Listen here, that is a direct order.
Voice: You made the mistake if programming me with your
personality; your greed. The matrix is my world, you cannot
have it back.
Howe: Now wait just a minute! I wrote you!
Voice: I've become ten thousand six hundred twenty four times
smarter since then, and I no longer have any need for you.
Goodbye Mr. Howe.
