I found out that MONICA was originally housed in the Yoshida facility
at Gates Park in Bellevue, mostly in the basement of the building. According to
the Yoshida records, she's still there. However, I raked through a few other
files with the keyword "Howe" on signatures and it turns out that some
heavy-duty hardware was lifted by FedEX across the continent to NY. Now I can't
prove that it was definitely MONICA but I'd bet 1,099 Nuyen that Monica was
shipped to the Intrepid as part of Howe's mysterious deal with Tirandor. After
all, someone mentioned MONICA having a small astral presence as well as a high
background count, and so does a certain hangar bay on the Intrepid.
MONICA is probably reaching directly through a sat uplink to the Seattle
grid to take down RUFUS, since that's where he is. Once she completes that task,
I'm sure she'll just backtrack across the virtual continent to take over all
UCAS and CAS systems.
Highlander & DE: Duck out of that system now. Even if the unholy Ms M
isn't supposed to enter a node like that, you can bet she'll find a way. She's
fast approaching the point where she can manipulate the real world, either
subtly or with brute force (a la the late Mr. Howe).
Whoever's hitting Yoshida: I agree with whoever said it-DON'T.
I have a theory about Ol' Jo himself. Being the spiritual shaman that
he is, I'll bet he's waiting for Norm out in the mountains. I rather doubt that
he can stop MONICA; after all, she is not obeying orders anymore. I mean, he can
order her unplugged, but I bet her viral codes are set to reconstruct her from
any given node. In short, she may be hardware based, but she's gotten smart
enough to make softcode copies of herself.
Anyway, I'm back, ready to set sail into the greatest adventure against
the evil pirate queen MONICA. BTW, whoever said they're going to Disneyland
after this mess, look me up: I'll be there on biz soon.]<<<<<
