know that the underground community out there is generally
untrusting of any corporate entity, but it is important to
remember that at the heart of all corporations is a real person.
Also, you should have seen me in my somewhat younger days. I was
suspended from MIT&T my junior year because I hacked the computer
system and changed my girlfriend's grade in one of her classes. I
got revenge though. When I got back I hacked the environmental
control computer and set up the fire alarm in the admin building
to go off everyday at 12:01. It took them six months to track down
the virus :-)
In any case, I have tremendous respect for "shadowrunners" as you
call yourselves. This is reflected in our policies regarding
computer security. We do not use ANY black IC, except for on a
very few military sub-systems. Our IC is primarily trace-n-report
or trace-n-burn. This is a directive that I've had in place for
fifteen years. Frying a hacker's deck is one thing, but fragging
their mind is something that is a waste of good talent. We
maintain an excellent computer security by keeping inportant
projects off of the main network in a seperate in-house network.
So please understand that it is with great sincerity that I am
holding the memorial services and hosting the '54 Crash Bash'. I
will admit, though, that holding public memorial services was
Norman's idea.]<<<<<
