>>>>>[Well folks, RAMboy's back in town and just getting over a mild case
of
space sickness. I tell you, Zero-G is a great motivator for remaining jacked
into a virtual reality. Descriptions may say floating through the Matrix is
the same sensaton, but at least with a deck you can control things.
Anyway, Jaez coerced me (using the Pavlovian Stimulus/response theory
of motivation) to post the rest of my story. This Tokugawa guy who was in charge
of both Ronin and a Yak clan in Tacoma hired my team to steal a computer from
the Mitsuhama reseearch building in Gates Park. We grabbed it, gave it over,
took a side trip to the Cascades with an Indian Bodyguard who turned out to be
under the big T's employ. Anyway, on return we were hunted by a Troll Physad
who brought us to Tokugawa.
Seems the reason he wanted us so bad was because 1)the computer was
missing and 2)He thought we had stolen it since the bodyguard had left without
formally retiring (oh: he died along the way. Natural Causes). Anyway, we had
only 24 hours to find the fragging thing.
Turns out that Tokugawa had planted it in another clan's turf to be
found by a third clan, one that was more directly in charge of the Mitsu theft
we had pulled. The plan was for the 2nd clan (I'd use names but my Japanese is
terrible) to be framed for the theft of 3rd clan's pet Mitsu project. Tokugawa
was trying to start a clan war, probably betting he'd come out on top.
Problem was, the computer wasn't where it was supposed to be. It turns
out some kids had found it, taken it home, and tried jacking into the Matrix
with little success. Jaez says the bloody thing's a stacked deck: works awesome
on some system configurations but inhales sharply against everything else. Well,
we returned it to Mr Tokugawa and thanked him heartily for letting us live.
However, one of our party members, who was framed for a Yak murder from
the days when he was a bodyguard wanted to stop Tokugawa, hoping to restore his
name and smite the guy who did him wrong (Deadman's words, not mine) so we set
up a meet with his old clan and showed him the evidence (which I won't detail
here.) The meet in orbit was for the clan chiefs to decide upon action. We went
along to present our case to everyone.
Tokugawa sent some guys up to disrupt the meeting-almost did, and I had
to wrestle a decker for control of life support. Tokugawa had been invited but
declined.
Anyway, Tokugawa is now steeling for attack, but I'm told he is very
powerful around here. As long as we have all these 'runners in town who have
already worked well together, why don't we make life difficult for this guy?
I know this may shred some nerves, but hey! they can be replaced!]<<<<<
