>>>>>[ Herr Trent, how you disappoint me. I had anticipated an
intellectually
stimulating repartee, and you seem determined to resort to such juvenile
tactics as hollow insults and name-calling. How discouraging.

I find your feeble attempts at wit sorrowfully short-sighted and ill conceived.
Indeed, mein Herr, I have read my countries' history. I find your confidence
in your countries much-inflated power rather puzzling, as despite England's
successes as a seagoing power during much of its past, your country has always
required the assistance of another continental power to successfully defeat an
European opponent.

Perhaps I shall remind you of your nation's abysmal performance towards the
end of the Hundred Year's War--a conflict where it so rashly decided to oppose
a continental power alone. Ultimately, England lost all its continental
territorial claims as a result of it.

Need I cite the alliance with Prussia in the Seven Year's War, when your island
state could only field a small force in France, and you required a land-based
power to continue your age-old conflict. There was Russia, Austria, and all
of Germany in the Napoleonic Wars, when the powers that be in your "blessed
plot" quaked in fear of an invasion by France. Also, you required assistance
by the Russian Empire and France in World War I. And even _then_ it seemed as
though all would be lost for you, but the United States ran to your aide,
saving you. One should also not forget the participation of the United States
and Soviet Union during World War II, when Winston Churchill practically
pleaded, "That the New World come to the aid of the Old."

Far more recently, there is your country's paltry participation in the EuroWar,
which comprised the invasion of the Low Countries (and there is such honor to
be obtained from destroying DEFENSELESS opponents, nicht wahr?). ]<<<<<
