Subject: Dinner(my turn)
Date: Tue, 23 Mar 93 00:34:38 -0500
I tried to get the next installment off earlier but it got interupted by an
incoming phone call. So here we go again.

Slash:
He will order a round of drinks and present menus to everyone, and then turn to
Dragon
"Dragon. I wish to apologize for your not being included in the rescue
squad. I'm afraid that I cannot apologize for killing Creeping Death. It was
us or him, and in the heat of combat, I chose him. But I must admit that you
should have been contacted and allowed to participate. But timing and the
orginization left very little opportunity. I only hope that you understand."
"As for biz, I have a Master's Degree in Computer Tech, Engineering,
Physics, and Chemistry. I know the ins and outs of the corps, as I used to do
extractions and penetrations for one. I specialize in penetrating security
systems that even the best decker can't do, like decentralized or Hole systems.
My old crew[a pained and sad shadow crosses his face] and I have raided Renraku
once, Aztechnology twice in two different cities, Kingsley Precision Metals,
and a variety of private extractions and datasteals where the data was somewhere
out of the system, like in a safe. Our last real run before the rescue was
against Aztech in Denver. As for Roxey, she's been doing her own thing."

The Snake(reaction too it)
Slash will slowly reach for his beer, give Nex a crooked smile, take
a swig, and put the beer down. Nothing special.
Roxey will freeze(doesn't really like snakes), shake her head, chuckle,
and then relax. She will be really careful when eating not to move too fast
and will quite possibly freak if Nex lets the snake too close to her. "I like
the pheonix much better, but I haven't been able to get one to stay my friend
for any length of time. Oh well."

Roxey:
"I understand how people can be pricks some times. Every once in a
while I get to be a real bitch too, so just relax. Just promise me that you
will keep the snake away from me...I really don't like snakes. A rattler
bit me when I was young and I almost died. I was sick for weeks. So just keep
it away, ok? Thanks."
"Oh, I like the cyberhand. Nice touch. And don't be so shy! It bugs
me! If you ain't going to live a little, why live at all? So relax. Just
be yourself. If I like what I see, we'll continue our talks at a later date.
But just now, I want to check out a new arival astrally...Excuse me...[zones
out for about 30 seconds, attracting comical glances from Bloodtooth and Shadow.
"Sorry. He looked like an ex of mine, from the Ancients,[appears to be
really angry, and then the fury fades] but he wasn't. Oh, would anyone mind if
I brought a friend down. MaxiMillion would really like to sit on my shoulder
and eat table scraps. You see, my ally really likes Salish. Prepare youselves.
[and a very large pseudo-pheonix manifests directly on Roxey's shoulder(Nex had
prepared his pet for the shock)]
The manager and several annoyed customers grumble, but the pay is good.
"You see, Nex...is it alright if I call you that?...I have never been
able to keep a phoenix as a pet, so I made one up myself. Isn't he beautiful?
Yes Buzz? What kind of biz have I been involved in? Well, lets see...
"I met Slash just after he got out of prison for homicide...oops, sorry
Slash...guess I forgot that you didn't want that to be general knowledge. I
crewed with him until I was seriously injured at a meet and they had to put me
up in a clinic. That's where I met Micheal, a member of the Ancients. He was
VERY attracted to me and payed to have me sexually and physically augmented
[spits with anger] without my permission to become his pleasure goddess. I was
forced into this for 3 years until I finally killed him. Let me tell you, a
long duration Death Touch kills reallllllly slooooowly and reallllllly painnn-
+ ful-
fullllly. He died a horible death, but got what he deserved. The Ancients
kicked me out after that and I got in contact with Slash again. We ran some
small private heists, but nothing fantastic. Then I met Action Jackson. You
might have noticed his posts on the Nets. He and I, a heavily cybered vamp and
a hair trigger Fire Adept, ran four runs in New Orleans in the height of anti-
vampire paranoia, when anyone caught even knowing a vamp was killed just as the
vamp was...Horribly. We stayed alive by pitting the Zulus agianst the Night
Stalkers and playing in the ensuing chaos. It was beautiful, but sickening too.
Since then, I've been in Tir Nan Og twice, London and the Northern Toxic Zones
once, Tokyo once, and Mexico City once. Let me tell you, don't go to Mexico
City...Ever! If you're magical and don't work for the government or Aztech,
which are almost the same thing, you're a target for either recruiting or
termination. And thier almost daily blood sacrafices on the old temple grounds
scare the DREK out of me. I had to kill a blood priest once. That's one of
the reasons I'm in with Slash now-to get Gates."

Dinner arrives and Slash finally gets to the point of the dinner.
"I'm sorry if we have beat around the bush at all, but the point is
that Roxey and I are having a very rough time of it right now. We'd like to
do a run or two to get our feet under us again. You know our qualifications
and what we do best. Think about it. And we'd like help finding Gates. He
wants me dead, and I'm afraid that he may resort to kidnapping my brother from
Fed-Boeing to draw me out of the shadows to where he can kill me. You under-
stand, I hope. But please! Continue you dinner! Desert is yet to arrive..."

Overall, as long as Nex keeps the snake about a meter away from Roxey a
and under control, she will talk relatively freely. Slash will not go into
detail about his prison term...yet.

Sorry if I rambled and sorry that it's so long this time. It's your turn again.

Enjoy.
Brian
