This is Rush Fielding for News Net coming to you live from our New York
studio. We have just recieved word from our carribean division that INN's
own Robert Kelton has made contact with the leaders of the People's Liberation
Army in the Omega Island Republic. We have Rob live via satellite for an
exclusive interview with the two minds behind the rebel uprising.
Excuse me, we seem to be having difficulty establishing a video link...
ROB: My apologies Rush, the PLA has asked us to conduct this interview by
audio only, with annotations only for security reasons.
RUSH: Very well Rob, I understand that you've managed to get a hold of the
two leaders of the PLA.
ROB: Not exactly Rush, we had attempted several times to get an interview
with representatives of the PLA, but were at a loss to find any after the
lightning raid on the capital three days ago. Apparently, they found us just
under an hour ago and asked if we would interview them on public nets.
They have also requested that we use their pirate satellite feed, also for
security reasons. All that aside, I am now speaking with Jacob Marcus and
Tommy "the dragon" Harada. Gentlemen, on behalf of the entire free world
I'd like to welcome you.
MARCUS: Thank you Rob, It's a pleasure to finally be able to speak openly,
without relying on deckers to ensure that my words reach the public.
ROB: What are your reactions to the recent press release by Roger Quention,
which claims that you are receiving support from so-called "terrorists and
shadowrunners," with Mr. Harada numbered among the terrorists?
MARCUS: He is attempting to discredit our cause by calling our methods into
question. I find this funny, the proverbial pot is calling the kettle black!
While some of the freedom fighteres may have questionable backgrounds, none
compare with the evidence we have amassed against Quention and his cohorts.
He also accuses Mr. Harada of masterminding the rebellion. To this I
respond with the FACT, yes the FACT, not the speculation that Quention uses,
that there was resistance from the beginning. When the old goverment was in
a state of economic collapse due to pressure exerted by DDI and certain
divisions of MagnaTech and these people began to make their intentions known
there were those of us ready to fight and die for our freedom. Mr. Harada
came to Omega on the trail of criminals who had manipulated him in the past,
and we came to him to help us with his expertise. I say again, he did not
enlist us, we enlisted him. Since then his sharp mind and frighteneing
skills have been indispensible! As far as I am concerned, he will have
full citizenship if we succeed, and if he so desires.
ROB: I notice you've been strangely silent Mr. Harada, you seemed unsettled
at the mention of the name Roger Quention.
HARADA: I have my reasons, leave it at that.
ROB: Very well then, could you elaborate on how you came to be a part of the
PLA?
HARADA: Please understand that this is a little uncomfortable for me, that
was part of a trying time for me. Before I begin, I must say that I am not
the same man I was several months ago. I first came to Omega on the trail
of a far reaching criminal conspiracy, masterminded by the corporate giants
who now pretend to be a valid government. These people have caused a great
deal of misery, suffering and death in their exploits, I could not allow them
to prey on the unsuspecting people of this island. I had to make sure that
someone would know the evil that these monsters represent. Mr. Marcus found
me gathering information and asked me to teach his group of rebels to fight.
I did so, and there were those who doubted that a small group could have an
effect on corporate giants. That is when I showed them just how much one man
can do by sucessfully attacking several installations alone. Soon the others
began to follow me, and in a matter of days, the People's Liberation Army was
forged from a ragtag group of activists who wanted to make a difference but
didn't know how. I taught them how, and you now see a force to be reckoned
with. Our support has grown, both in and out of Omega, there was even a
benefit concert to raise support for us. We have gained the attention of
the world, the recognition of nations, and now the support of an empire!
Not bad for a small group of people who thought they would never make a
difference!
ROB: Those are strong words, and strong accusations. What kind of evidence
do you have?
HARADA: As we speak, a team of specialists is collating an enormous amount
of data collected by associates of mine since MagnaTech came into the corp
limelight with the destruction of their main office. This data is too long
and involved to go into now, but we promise that highlights will be made
public as soon as possible.
ROB: Mr. Marcus, you have heard Quention's accusation that the PLA planted
a bomb in the Roger Quention Learning Facility during the raid three days
ago. Do you have any comments on that.
MARCUS: No bombing raid was ordered. The so-called "Janitor" that pulled
the fire alarm was one of our operatives. He followed a group of our
soldiers after discovering that their families were being held by the Omega
Army, under Tirandor's tender care. He found that they were given
instructions from Quention (a veritable architect of deceit) to plant the
bomb in the hopes that the sensless slaughter of innocents would make us
appear to be mindless butchers unworthy of International action. His plot
failed as our operative was able to evacuate the building. We will release
his direct testimony along with the rest of the evidence we have.
ROB: What about the allegations that you are employing a band of
shadowrunners led primarily by the mysterious decker known only as
"Dark Elf"?
HARADA: The Dark Elf and I have been associates in the past. While most
brand him as a criminal, we recognize that the source of these accusations
to be the very same people we are trying to overthrow. As far as I'm
concerned, if the Dark Elf wants to help us, I won't get in his way.
MARCUS: As far as the People's Liberation Army is concerned, there are a
handful of concerned people from various nations who have dedicated
themselves to our cause, and we are grateful to those who have joined the
fight both here and those who support us overseas by staging benefits,
speaking with government representatives, and those who have begun to
protest in those countries that have not yet realized the nature of the
criminals who claim to rule this country.
HARADA: Excuse me, there has been an attack, we must go. They've found
<whispered too low to pick up>.
I apologize for our early departure, I know you'd like to ask us more about
Germany's role in this, and I assure you that you'll get a chance. If you
would care to join us, I think we may be able to let you release some
combat footage...
ROB: That's all for now, this is Robert Kelton signing off.

On a related note, the United Nations still waits for the UCAS to take a
definite stand on the Omega issue. Just days ago the UCAS seemed ready to
stand with the PLA. Renewed executive confidence in General Trevor has
nearly turned the decision against the PLA. The president has expressed
his trust for General Trevor, but has not yet announced his final decision.
While Germany has begun to act on its beliefs, much of the world waits
for the UCAS to take a stand before casting their own votes. When asked to
comment on Germany's seemingly premature call to arms, UN representatives
witheld comment for the time being. This is Rush Fielding for INN.

I think we need more definite evidence. I've got a proposal to make. I've
