I've been crawling the Barrens and poppin' discrete queries at just
about everyone I know. Nothing so far (that is if you discount the
following story).

A few nights ago, this wild-eyed wizboy in a tattered yellow robe comes
crashing into this taproom/chow palace called the 'Casa de Diablo' or
some such thing, heads up to the buffet table (it was happy hour) and
starts stuffin' his trap. When the owner comes over (shotgun in hand),
this character takes one look at him, tosses him a ENORMOUS star
saphire, and goes back to feeding his gullet like he's had no proper
chow in days. All the time he's waving his arms and yakkin' in some
Spanish dialect that no one understood. Then, as soon as the grub's
gone, he high-tails it back into the street and was gone. My buddy
Eyestalk, was called in by the owner to assess the gemstone (I guess the
guy didn't want the whole thing to come back to haunt him--careful man,
yes?). Anyway, the stone IS worth a fortune. Eyestalk had the security
tapes looked over by a linguist. Apparently, our buddy was speaking
some frag-assed obscure dialect of Portugese. As yet I have no
transcript of what he said. I'll get to it, that is, if y'all think
that it's worth the trouble.

Nightshade, welcome aboad, skipper! Looks like you come well
recommended. I, for one, am lim psyched for the hunt. By the way,
bossman, do you happen to wear side-burns? Just thought that I'd ask.
But now, onto important matters (i.e. chow for the meet). Posting about
this feeding frenzy has got me hungry. So, Gawk, you think that you can
scare up some libations? I'll get some sushi and krill. The rest of
you, fill in the gaps in the menu. After all, you can't creep the
shadows with your tank on the red-line. Anyway, regards my chummeros,
