>>>>>[Damn! people are shooting at me over this damn interface gizmo and I
haven't even had time to test it properly. Too busy with the show. But now
that I'm officially 'on leave' of sorts, I bolted down to the Ikon and took
the damn thing apart.

Mathias is a modulater of sorts. It's kind of a dedicated MPCP, duplicating
the signal suppresion and control roles of a regular chip. Going by William's
description of himself, it probably kept him from getting lost in the Matrix
or floating.

When I hooked it up to my deck, it resulted in a slower speed and slowed down
graphics. Even after I took my own chip's settings down to zero modulation, it
acted erratically. This thing is no good to any of us. Maybe I'll pawn it, just
to spite the bastards.

What I can't figure out is why they don't care about the device anymore, and
just want to kill me. Maybe I know too much, but. . .I don't know anything.

I'll be hiding out for a while. Expect less contact from me. Maybe I should
run back to Seattle; I have friends there. Or maybe daddy.]<<<<<
